This tour was amazing! First you walk a trail and see many lizards, birds, turkeys, and a water buffalo that you can take a picture with! Then you get on the boat. The guide was very knowlegable about all the flora and fauna. I loved seeing how excited he got when seeing certain species! We were able to spot a sloth and had some monkeys visit us on our boat! When the tour was complete, we snacked on some fresh fruit with nice cold water which was refreshing! Driving to the tour went thru some beautiful scenery, and only complaint was the one VERY narrow bridge to cross to get there. I was terrified it would not be wide enough for our vehicle, but we made it! Would definitely recommend this tour!

This was such an amazing trip! We saw so much wildlife, and our tour guide was absolutely incredible. He gave us a very informative and engaging tour of the mangroves, and we learned so much along the way. We went with two adults, a 14-year-old, a 3-year-old, and a 1-year-old, and everyone had a wonderful time. The most exciting part of the trip was our interactions with the capuchin monkeys. I especially appreciated that our tour did not engage in feeding the monkeys or harassing them to come onto the boat. Instead, our tour guide allowed the monkeys to decide whether they wanted to interact with us. We were instructed not to touch, feed, or scare them. If they approached us, we were simply told to remain calm and allow them to be curious on their own terms. As a lifelong lover of Jane Goodall, you can only imagine how incredibly excited I was when a capuchin monkey randomly decided to jump onto our boat, come over to me, and spend a minute checking me out completely on its own accord. It was such a magical and unforgettable experience—truly a memory I will cherish for the rest of my life. I am so grateful that our tour respected the wildlife and allowed that interaction to happen naturally. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves wildlife and wants to experience the mangroves in a respectful and responsible way!

A very great experience! We were lucky and got a private tour just for the two of us – accompanied by three guides. We were told many interesting facts about the mangroves, nature, and wildlife. Thanks to their expertise, we were able to observe many animals and take great photos. The guides were very nice, friendly, and attentive. We can absolutely recommend this tour.

Ecofriendly family tour of the mangrove. Mindfull of the environment. And also of our (relatively) small children. Great guide with lots of knowledge. Sturdy boat. Nice snack at the end; friendly people.

Fantastic tour. Our grandkids said it was the best tour they’ve ever taken. They are young but still a pretty strong complement. We all enjoyed it very much. The guide and guide in training were very informative and their English was quite good. The boat was fine and the fruit snack afterwards was refreshing. We saw lots of wildlife and learned tons.

Alan was an amazing tour guide! We saw lots of monkeys up close and he was very informative about lizards and other insects and the ecosystem of Costa Rica. I highly recommend it for kids and families.

The pictures are deceiving, as they show a BUNCH of monkeys on people and it is why we chose this tour. As soon as the tour began, our tour guide made an announcement saying we absolutely do not feed monkeys, because we don’t want to disrupt their natural habitat, so if they do decide to come into our boat that’s one thing, but we don’t attract them to us in any way. I was taken aback, as the monkeys were what I promised my 11 year old on his birthday, solely on the pictures I saw on viator. I told her my concerns, she said no way. So then I texted the person who I was chatting with through WhatsApp in charge of this posting and he said there is nowhere in the posting saying it’s a monkey experience. I told him that their pictures are deceiving and it’s a misrepresentation of what they offer. The conversation started to get heated and as soon as that started, we saw a bunch of monkeys on a different boat and they were feeding them, everyone there who wanted, would feed a monkey so they would come to them. In the end a couple of monkeys came into our boat and it happens to be that my birthday boy was the only one that the monkey went on and someone from another group took a video of it and sent it to me, so even though I was super disappointed, it ended up being just ok. My other son was disappointed that the monkeys didn’t come in him and frankly, my husband and I would have loved go experience it as well. If you’re looking for a monkey experience, look somewhere else. We saw a snake, some termites’ nests, some crabs, a falcon, and that’s about it. It obviously is up to nature what shows up at any given time. I just want to emphasize AGAIN that this is NOT a monkey experience and there’s a bunch of other tours who do feed them and get them on people and get a bunch of super cool pictures. This is NOT that. The tour guide was very nice and took photos of us whenever we wanted and sent those pictures to me right away.

A great fun tour with a nice guide who enthusiastically told us a lot about the flora and fauna. From water buffalo, cinnamon tree, sloth, mangrove to very naughty monkeys everything passed by! The best tour we've had here on costa rica.

Alonso told us and showed us many interesting things about the flora and fauna in the mangroves on a farm and boat tour. Many animals have shown up. We can highly recommend this tour.

Amazing experience! Saw so much wildlife. Would definitely book again!
