Excellent driver, on time, great communication! I really appreciated and enjoyed the conversation. I learned a lot about the island on our 2 hour ride from Castries. We chatted about the local flora and the various villages. For cruise ship passengers be prepared to get off the ship early-it will take your entire port day to travel and hike. It is a mountainous roadtrip. As for the hike itself, it’s strenuous. 100% worth the effort. You get assigned a guide upon arrival. So that’s luck of the draw. On the trail I talked to many of the other guides and they are all good-nice-interesting-interested. Know your limits, take plenty of water and energy. I would suggest setting a time limit and turn around if you are not going to make the summit. As my guide said “you are in nature’s gym” so just go and enjoy some exercise and an authentic drive across the island.
