My husband and I had such a wonderful time on this tour! We liked the fact that our guide, Cali, explained a lot of the history and information on the bus between stops and then let us do our own thing at each site we visited, rather than us having to follow her around closely at each place. We really enjoyed Katsuoji, it is laid out really well for visitors to make a loop through it and see everything and it was extremely beautiful. Arashiyama area was very, very busy and crowded but once we walked a little further into the forest and gardens it was a peaceful time so I would recommend venturing off the main street and checking out some of the smaller shrines that are past the main part of the bamboo forest. We especially enjoyed the small shrine which seemed to be dedicated to hair and got a really cute scissor shaped omamori to bring home. Kinkakuji was similarly crowded but it’s a must-see, so we enjoyed that as well despite the crowds. Our trip fell during a public holiday, so I think that was part of the reason for the crowds. Special shoutout to Cali for being so sweet and such a great guide. I mentioned to her that I had been having some stomach problems and she very, very kindly messaged me after the tour to tell me to take good care of myself and to offer recommendations on easy foods to digest that I could find in Kyoto. It was so sweet and she didn’t have to go out of her way to show such kindness but she did. I would recommend the tour to anyone visiting Kyoto! Thank you Cali!

Katsuo-ji Temple
勝王子（かつおうじ）は、大阪市の北、箕面市の森林地帯にある仏教寺院。 勝王子は8世紀に創建され、1300年以上にわたって崇敬され 、 「 勝運の寺 」 「 勝法の寺」と呼ばれています。 勝大路の縁起の良い雰囲気は、日本の縁起物として親しまれている無数のだるまが境内に散りばめられています。 何世紀にもわたって、天皇や将軍は、この寺でその努力の勝利を祈願してきました。 仕事、学業、ビジネス、スポーツなど、さまざまな分野で「勝ち運」を求めて、今も参拝者がこの聖地に群がる。 勝大路の境内は四季折々の美しさを誇る。 春は桜が咲き、夏は高山バラやアジサイが咲き乱れる。 しかし、秋は特に壮観です。 11月中旬には、もみじから赤や黄色に色づく鮮やかな景色に姿を変え、見事な紅葉を見ようと勝大路を訪れる観光客も多い。
嵐山の竹林は京都を訪れる際には必見で、京都のシンボル的存在です。 この美しく穏やかな自然のアトラクションは、そびえ立つ竹の茎と静かな雰囲気で知られています。 緑豊かな緑に囲まれたのどかな道を歩くと、心が安らぎます。 自然の美しさを堪能しながら、ゆっくりとした時間が流れるのを心から感じることができます。 特に薄風が踊り抜けると、高さのある竹の茎が優しく前後に揺れ動く緑がうっとり。
Nonomiya Shrine
野宮神社 は京都市街の西側、嵐山地区にある神社である。 象徴的な朱色の鳥居を持つ神社の多くとは異なり、野宮神社には「黒木鳥居」と呼ばれる特徴的な黒い鳥居があります。 規模は小さいものの、伊勢神宮の巫女に奉仕された内親王の祓いの神社として、古くから創建された歴史ある神社です。 野宮神社は女性の代理として手伝いや仲介をしてくれることで定評があり、氏子には愛情や子供や安産を願う女性が多い。 神社で売られているお守りには、女性の幸せをテーマにしたものが多く、社務所ではさまざまなお守りを販売しています。
Tenryu-ji Temple
ユネスコ世界遺産の天龍寺は、京都・嵐山地区のまさに逸品で、市内五大禅寺の中でもトップにランクされている。 天龍寺を訪れながら、ぜひ見事な曹源池庭園を体験してみてください。 禅宗の名匠夢窓疎石が手がけた庭園で、長きにわたり時代を超えた美しさを保っています。 岩に囲まれた中央の池や松林、嵐山の森林など、絵のように美しい風景が広がる。
Togetsukyo Bridge
渡月橋は嵐山を代表するランドマーク。 元々は平安時代（794年 - 1185年）に建立されたもので、最も新しいものは1930年代に再建されたものである。 桂川に架かる有名な橋で、周辺の山々や川の風景を絵のように眺めることができます。 ヒノキ製の欄干に沿って青銅製の飾り帽子が特徴。 これにより宇治橋の歴史的イメージを残し、周囲の景観と調和したデザインとなっている。
Arashiyama Kimono Forest
「きものの森」は、アクリル製の透明筒を600個並べた特徴的なテキスタイルアートインスタレーションで、高さは2メートル。 これらの柱には、優雅な花柄から幾何学的な形、日本の伝統的なシンボルまで、さまざまなデザインの鮮やかな着物生地が飾られています。 インスタレーションでは、伝統的な京友禅のデザイン32点を展示。 着物の森は、日本の伝統的な織物と職人技をユニークで魅力的な視点で紹介する必見のアトラクションです。

金閣寺（きんかくじ）は、京都府京都市にある禅宗寺院。 黄金色の眩い外観と穏やかな庭園で知られるユネスコ世界遺産。 ゴールデンパビリオンの名称は、パビリオンが金箔で覆われていることに由来する。 採用された金は、汚染や死に対する否定的な考えや感情を軽減し、浄化することを目的としていた。 金閣は鹿苑寺境内にある3階建ての建物。 各フロアで異なる建築様式である。 寝殿、武家、禅という3つの建築様式をうまく取り入れている。

We really enjoyed this...
We really enjoyed this tour! We primarily wanted an easy no hassle way to get to Katsuo-Ji from Kyoto without having to worry about public transportation and this was it. Our tour guide Apple gave a brief introduction on the bus about the temples/attractions and then we had free time to explore the areas ourselves.
