Fun museum exploring Da Vinci’s work. Easy purchasing of ticket and getting into museum. Enjoyed the interactive elements

A fascinating museum that allows you to discover the innovations of Leonardo da Vinci and learn more about his history. Interactive nature that allows you to try out the inventions.

We learned a lot about Da Vinci in terms of his contributions to science, medicine, weaponry, engineering and art. His imagination led to multiple advancements that lasted centuries. A VG experience for older children and adults.

Of course we toured the Doge Palace at everyone’s recommendation, but we had a few hours and wanted to find something else worthwhile. We lucked into this which was a modest museum, but with some really interesting - and interactive - exhibits on Leonardo DaVinci. Good explanations in English (as well as German, French & Italian). We spent a couple of hours, reading and experimenting, but could have spent some more time. Learning more about this genius and what he did and influenced was really interesting.

Very well-kept museum. Being able to touch and try the various instruments is really very interesting and fun for the kids, which helped them understand how the objects work and to think about Leonardo's genius and intuition.

What a fantastic place. We hadn't really planned to come here and just wondered in, I'm so glad we did. So informative and fun.

Outstanding presentation. Didn't have must time...crowd was moderate. Staff was always helpful. Best for offering the chance to expose the true da Vinci token made by Melzi which displays da Vinci in a wooden wheelchair along with his history on both side of this token. Finally, the image, will be part of your records but due to there size evasive definitions are hard to develop. The token features two portraits of da Vinci, his moons and glass globe on one side. But the other side has his history! His Saint, His castle and many people he knew during his lifetime painted in great detail at less than 1 cm. Many items are overpainted as well. San Rocco Museum next to Da Vinci. We found countless paintings by Tintoretto with their play of light and shadows. We also went to San Rocco Church next to the Museum,

This museum wasn’t on our radar until a friend recommended it to us, and it was absolutely worth the visit. This small, two-story museum gave us a chance to interact with numerous engineering contraptions that da Vinci came up with. It highlighted his contributions to the understanding of human anatomy, and it gave us a short but effective overview of his legacy as a painter. Everything here was a replica of his work, which meant that we were actually allowed -- and encouraged -- to touch it (unless noted otherwise). The interactive nature of the experience gave us a deeper and more lasting feel for da Vinci's genius. For us, the experience was particularly valuable because our child had just learned about the Renaissance in school and knew a bit about da Vinci as an engineer and artist, and thanks to this visit, he gained greater depth on the subject, and he was excited to share back with his teacher and classmates. Aside from the contraptions and accompanying descriptions, we also enjoyed giving our legs a break from all the walking when we sat down to watch the couple of short movies about the life of da Vinci. I highly recommend spending 1 h / 1.5 h here. We bought our tickets at the entrance around 4:30 pm on a Sunday, and there weren’t many visitors then. For so much value concentrated in a small space and short time commitment, in addition to reasonable ticket prices, it would have been a shame to not pay this museum a visit.
