This is a local Hungarian food tour, designed around places and foods that locals actually enjoy, rather than tourist-oriented restaurants. During the tour, we take our guests to a highly rated local goulash spot with a beautiful view of the Basilica, as well as a traditional sausage place where guests even have the opportunity to meet the owner. We also visit one of Budapest’s well-known ruin bars. Regarding the lángos, this is a large lángos intended to be shared between two people. We do this intentionally because the tour includes several different food stops. If we provided a full lángos per person, many guests would be completely full and unable to enjoy the rest of the food. In fact, during your tour, the lángos was not even completely finished. We also want to clarify the beer situation. The lángos venue does not sell beer, but we have an arrangement with the venue that allows us to bring local Hungarian beer so our guests can enjoy it together with their lángos. The purpose is precisely to give guests the opportunity to try a local beer combination that they otherwise would not be able to experience at that stop. You had also requested beer during the tour, which is why we arranged it. We understand that taste and expectations are subjective, but describing the experience as a “rip-off” is particularly disappointing when the tour delivered exactly what is advertised: local Hungarian food, traditional places, local drinks, and authentic experiences rather than expensive tourist restaurants. We are always open to constructive feedback, but we feel this review does not fairly represent the experience or what is included in the tour. We hope you can understand the reasoning behind the food portions and the local approach of our experience.
