Delving into Holographs
New York City really does have something for everyone, and it’s not every day you come across a museum dedicated to holographs. Sy Rivers gives a very comprehensive explanation of holographs, the art gallery, and her lab on the lower level. For those fascinated by the subject, this is the place to be. Although much of the explanation was out of my depth, Sy was warm, engaging, and made it interesting. Casual visitors may find the experience a bit specialized, while true enthusiasts will likely appreciate it most.
Please note the lab is down a short set of stairs (no elevator).

Impressive, Informative, Entertaining
My tour at Holographic Studios was impressive, informative, and entertaining. I visited the studio in August 2025 where I was given a one-on-one tour of the current holographic exhibit that was being displayed, shown a collection of their historic holograms, and involved in a laser demonstration in their next-door lab.
Sy Rivers is an excellent host and tour guide who explained the history and scientific process of holography in both an educational and engaging manner. My experience here not only gave me an abundance of knowledge about holography, but was also seriously fun.
Highly recommend!

Great NYC experience
Took my 6 year-old grandson. He had found the Holographic Studio in a book called 111 Things for Kids in New York. He loved the experience (I enjoyed it as well). Dr. Laser was superb in engaging him and explaining things. This is a uniquely New York City experience. Really fun and really informative.

As entertaining as it was informative, and great value for the money.
I enjoyed my tour of "Dr. Laser's Holographic Studios and Laser Lab," it was good value for the money, and I recommend it.
I took the tour in October, 2023 and was lucky enough to have been the only person at the scheduled time. The tour was dense with information and well-presented, and Dr. Laser is an affable and witty guide that kept the tour interesting, informative, and fun.
The tour is equally informative and entertaining. You'd be hard-pressed to find someone more knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his craft than "Dr. Laser." He's an interesting man with an interesting trade, and over 40 years of experience. He was cracking jokes throughout the tour and I really enjoyed my time there.
The lifetime of material collected in the lab looks like a movie set of a mad scientist. I personally found the accumulation of a lifetime of work as interesting as the topic itself.
I recommend this tour!
