Lots of confusion at the terminal and getting off the bus. Once we were in the right group, our guide was excellent. Knowledgeable but not too much.

We had heard a lot about Bruges before our trip, but seeing it in person was something completely different. My partner and I spent the day enjoying the historic center, and it ended up being one of our favorite cruise stops. There is something especially nice about walking through Bruges together. The old buildings, canals, bridges, and quiet little streets create a very relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed taking our time with the main sights rather than trying to check off every attraction. The Basilica of the Holy Blood was one of the places that stood out to us because of its history and architecture. We also really enjoyed the canal boat ride. Sitting on the water together gave us a chance to rest our feet while still sightseeing, and the views were lovely. We had enough time to take photographs, enjoy some local treats, and simply walk around the city. It felt like a genuine visit rather than a rushed port stop. By the time we returned to the ship, we were tired but very happy with how we spent our day.

Considerable amount of walking on cobblestone streets and sidewalks. Weather changes quickly. Beautiful center city! However, there were no headsets, so unless you were the first two people behind the guide when walking, you could not hear what she said and you feel like you are missing out. You could hear when she stopped and talked to the group, which the guide did frequently. The good news is that they limit the groups to 20 in the city center. You get to see the outside of lots of buildings, but not the inside. If you are going to be in Bruges a couple of days, it would be a good tour to start with, to get to know where many of the sites are to come back and go inside and spend time.

We had a really enjoyable few hours exploring Bruges while our cruise was docked at Zeebrugge. With limited time in port, we wanted something that would let us see the main sights without feeling like we were constantly rushing, and this worked out very well for our family. The journey into Bruges was straightforward, and once we arrived, it was nice to be able to focus on enjoying the city rather than worrying about directions or timing. The medieval streets and buildings in the Old Town were beautiful, and the whole place had such a different atmosphere from the modern cities we are used to visiting. We especially enjoyed seeing the Basilica of the Holy Blood and wandering through the historic center. The canal boat ride was probably the favorite part for the whole family. We took plenty of photos, stopped for a little Belgian chocolate, and still had enough time to enjoy the atmosphere. A very memorable cruise stop for our family.
