This excursion worked well for our family because it combined structured sightseeing with free time. The canal cruise was especially helpful for keeping everyone together and comfortable. The children enjoyed seeing the city from the boat, and the adults appreciated the historical context provided along the way. It was a nice introduction to Bruges before exploring on foot. Once in the city, we walked at our own pace and found plenty of interesting spots to stop. The overall experience felt relaxed and manageable for a family group.
Our group wanted something simple that didn’t require planning trains or worrying about timing. This excursion made the day easy from start to finish. The canal boat ride was enjoyable and gave us a shared experience to start the day. It was relaxing to sit together and take in the views of Bruges from the water. Afterwards, we had time to explore independently. We visited cafés, walked through the main squares, and took plenty of photos. The flexibility made it a good fit for different interests within our group.
Wonderful overview of the city and our guide was so knowledgeable. Loved the ancient building. The river cruise was fascinating. Enjoyed it very much.
There was nothing in the description saying that you would be doing a lot of walking BEFORE the Canal cruise and city free time. I stopped at the beginning of the park, thinking that everyone would be back shortly and continuing on with the rest of the tour. Nope, after over an hour wait, my wife informed me that the walk was all the way into the city before the canal tour. I chose to take an Uber back to the cruise port as to wait alone in the park for another 2plus hours....

Please take a closer look at the tour description, which clearly states the following: “Please note that this tour includes approximately 2 hours of exploration on foot in the pedestrian area of Bruges.” 2. Please also review the “Additional Info” section of the tour description, which clearly states: “Please note that this tour requires significant walking, making it inaccessible for wheelchair or scooter users, as well as for guests with limited walking mobility.” 3. When booking future activities through Viator, we strongly recommend basing your expectations on the tour description and listed restrictions rather than on personal assumptions. The Guide was an enthusiastic, full of information and with humour which made the 2 hours and 15 minutes fly by. We would thoroughly recommend this Boat Ride tour.
We booked this excursion during our cruise stop in Zeebrugge because we wanted something easy that still gave us a good feel for Bruges. The experience turned out to be very balanced and enjoyable. The transfer into the city was smooth, and once we arrived, the canal boat ride was a highlight. Seeing Bruges from the water gave a completely different perspective compared to walking. The reflections of the old buildings on the canals created a calm and almost timeless atmosphere. After the boat ride, we had time to walk around the city center. It was nice to explore at our own pace, stop for photos, and enjoy the quiet streets. The day felt relaxed without being empty, which made it a very pleasant cruise excursion overall.
Our day is Brugge was fantastic! We enjoyed getting to see all the sites and still having some free time for our own exploration. Our guide was terrific! We finished our day with a hole in one Belgium waffle with chocolate and strawberries! Perfect mix of history, shopping and yummy treats! 100% recommend!
Great to explore Brugge from the canal. Really good guide who had perfect English and French commentary Learnt so much about the local history.
The tour and canal ride was wonderful and informative however our tour guide was not mindful of some participants physical limitations and was walking too fast so they could not keep up. He often was so far ahead he could not be seen. Other members of the group had to stay back to assist
We joined a small group tour, and it was such a mood. Walkinbhand in hand over those tiny stone bridges in the Minnewater area was just... wonderful. We also took a boat trip, which is just do because the views of the city from the water are beautiful, and we felt like we experienced the best city in only a few hours.
