Giovanni is an amazing guide who creates an unforgetable experience for the whole group. His deep knowledge of Etna, inspiration and excellent communication are a gift for every group. Very well organized and executed!

While it is easy just to say the hike was spectacular it was thanks to our guide Giovanni that made it a perfect day. In addition the staff at Etna Experience, especially Laura, provided an excellent pre tour experience by responding to questions quickly and ensuring we had all the relevant information about the tour. As someone who worked in protected areas management and dealt with visitor needs at our organization's sites I can say without hesitation that the team at Etna Experience are exceptional professionals who I would have no problem recommending to friends and family. I definitely would go on a tour with them again.

If you found this trek - just do it!!! It took me several attempts and searches to find this trek but so glad that I did. Giovanni was an amazing tour guide. His background is in biology specifically botany. He is so knowledgeable and gave us the appropriate amount of information. We all had different hiking abilities and yet we all felt well taken care of. The views we were fortunate enough to see were breathtaking and definitely pictures will never do it justice.

It was fantastic! I was picked up near the hotel. We drove about 45 minutes to the camp where we were allowed to use hiking boots, jackets, etc. (free of charge) After that we drove to the "Refugio Giovanni Sapienza" where we started. The hike was very beautiful and our guide was very knowledgeable. He (Giovanni) told us a lot of things. It was very pleasant and interesting!!

smooth pick-up from Catania and drive to the starting point. Shoes and jackets are provided. The hike is in the north of Etna and starts at about 1700m. The hike is about 9km long and you only climb about 400m. So it's a very easy hike. For people who are looking for a more demanding tour, who also explores the Etna at altitudes above 2000m I would recommend a tour in the south. For us the tour was rather unspectacular, but still includes great views and a beautiful volcanic landscape. Price-wise there are similar tours at a lower price.

Dario, our guide, was excellent. We defined the pace of the trekking and adapted the course if necessary. Dario was very pedagogical and explained in detail the history of Etna and its rock composition. The trek lasted 5 hours.

Great experience! I will pick you up in the most convenient place according to your hotel. The first stop is a beautiful vineyard overlooking Mount Etna where you will be provided for the equipment (shoes / helmet and torch). We proceed to the visit of the snow caves (very suggestive) and continue on the north side of Etna where you can enjoy a breathtaking landscape. Our guide Denise was impeccable both from the point of view of knowledge and from the point of view of typical Sicilian hospitality. Experience really recommended!

a wonderful tour guided by Janet. she is really knowledgeable and helpful. we went trekking and saw all the stuff about volcanos. went into a cave and knew how the lava works.
