Yudai-san explained various things, such as the history of tea, how to make it, and the alcove. It was a very knowledgeable experience about tea.

We did the calligraphy class with Hanna and the tea ceremony with Yukki, and both were wonderful. Hanna was incredibly skilled, and so patient, kind, and encouraging. She made calligraphy feel approachable and fun, even for beginners. Yukki was a warm, welcoming host who shared the history of tea in a way that was interesting and easy to follow. We learned about matcha, prepared it ourselves, and enjoyed it with Japanese sweets. We attended with our baby, who they said was the first ever in their studio, and they couldn't have been more supportive. Our little one was unusually fussy for a while, and both hosts were so kind and understanding about it, never making us feel rushed or like a bother. Both experiences were hands-on and memorable, and we came away with new skills and a deeper appreciation for the culture. We'd highly recommend them to anyone visiting, even families with little ones.

There was so much to love about this tea ceremony experience, I'd highly recommend it to anyone. The two women hosting us were so kind and lovely, we hit it off immediately, and deeply enjoyed the tour of the historically protected building and learning the significance of the room in which the tea ceremony happens. They took care to explain how matcha is grown, harvested, and refined, and then performed a traditional tea ceremony and walked us through whisking our own matcha. The view over the river was beautiful, my partner and I loved our whole experience.

Me and my friend had an amazing time. The hosts were extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Overall I thought it was a very wholesome time and I would recommend it to anybody who wanted to experience the culture.

Small and cozy place that wins all the points thanks to the kindness and warmth of the hosts. Absolutely charming, I went with my daughters and it exceeded our expectations by far.
