This is a beautiful show featuring singing, guitar playing, and some short videos about the history of Fado music. Even if you don’t understand a word of Portuguese, the sentiment in the songs was clearly felt through the singing and guitar playing. This is something great to do when it’s hot on the streets of Lisboa and you need a respite. Also, if you don’t want to commit a few hours to a show and singing, this would also be a great choice.
Wonderful evening… BOOK IT ! Show starts with short movie (in English) explaining history of fado and famous performers. EXcellent short historical overview. There were two singers male and female… both alternated singing with Portuguese instrument and guitar accompaniment. Wonderful evening! Some say a little Touristy but I still suggest. OPen seating and a glass of port or OJ as you enter.
Highly recommend this show. The guitarists and singers are gifted and it was helpful to have the video educating us about fado history.
Very interesting show, begins by telling the story of fado and its curiosities, talks about Amalia Rodrigues the queen of fado, then 2 singers of revesam presenting various songs, a total of 50 minutes.
My wife and I had limited time in Lisbon, and couldn't go to a dinner show in the Alfama. We opted for a city-center a Fado show instead. We were a little apprehensive, but it was a great introduction to Portuguese folk music. At just under an hour, it fit into our schedule, but - more importantly - the performance was great. The guitars and voices were well-matched, and the port wine was a nice touch.
Very nice show, good approach to fado with the historical aspect. It's a shame there are no subtitles in French; we missed some explanations.
The experience was amazing. The singer’s voices were so smooth that it gives you chills. It was awesome if you find yourself in Lisbon it’s a must see we highly recommend.
I am typically not a fan of this kind of music and was only booking because my mom wanted to experience it. I do have to admit it was an amazing performance really and powerful voices of the singers.
What a great time. A very small venue, so everyone was seated close to the stage. Two singers, one male and one female, regaled us with about 10 songs. Not all were tear-jerkers, though I would not know since I don’t understand Portuguese. Excellent accompaniment with 2 musicians. Just lovely.
I absolutely loved it! Singers and guitar players were amazing and learning about Fado in video was so interesting- great experience overall and I went solo no problem!
