This tour was, without a doubt, the highlight of my entire trip to Paris! From start to finish, it was such a meaningful, engaging, and unforgettable experience. Louise was an absolutely phenomenal tour guide! She was incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, warm, and engaging. You could truly feel how much she loves the history and stories she was sharing with us. She brought the rich legacy of Black Americans in Paris to life in a way that was both fascinating and deeply moving. I walked away having learned so much—not just about the incredible artists, musicians, and writers who left their mark on Paris, but also about the cultural connections and history that I had never fully appreciated. Louise made the experience! Her storytelling, knowledge, and genuine passion made every stop memorable. I honestly could have stayed on the tour for hours. If you’re visiting Paris, DO NOT miss this tour! It was one of the most memorable experiences of my trip, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone interested in history, culture, art, music, and the incredible legacy of Black Americans in Paris. Just returned home from Paris after an amazing and unforgettable trip with good friends, and while this tour was at the top of our list, it more than exceeded any of our expectations. This experience is for everyone, however as African American women, we truly appreciated the way our smart, charming, engaging, and knowledgeable guide, Louise, spoke so candidly, but with such sensitivity, imparted an enormous wealth of information, shared anecdotal stories, listened intently and responded thoughtfully and thoroughly to our myriad questions. Such a full and rich experience: We saw and learned so much and ended our tour full of understanding and additional wonder. On a completely personal note, an actual relative of one of our group members—much to our surprise--was one of the novelists featured/mentioned as part of our tour, which sparked sincere emotion, at which point Louise was beautifully comforting and kind. The entire experience was so thought-provoking, and Lousie, while the consummate professional, was such a true pleasure. Put on your walking shoes, and get ready to be educated, captivated and transfixed, as this is a must see/do on the Left Bank while in Paris!
