We booked a half day trip from Parksville (French Creek). A few brief sightings of Whales - very good. Main issue was we only stopped briefly 3 times in the 4 hour tour. Rest of the time we were travelling at high speed and the ride was extremely bumpy. Literally like smacking down on concrete. Guide and organisation was very good.
Great to experience with our lovely captains, Jane and Kate on board Prowler. The ride was comfortable and safe. The wildlife and scenery were awe inspiring and the guides were very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

Tour left at 12:00PM on Father's Day and ended at 4:30PM. Weather was perfect, whales appeared in large numbers, neither of which the company could control. Their narrative was informative and friendly. Canadian regulations require you wear a bulky survival suit. Our hosts did a good job of getting us into these contraptions. No need to bring extra clothes. They are bulky and can be hot but you can take off the upper part to be more comfortable. Perhaps the best whale watch I have experienced in my 82 years of life. We had lots of excellent cooperation from nature and the weather.

This was my second time with ocean ecoventures. The first time captain Lance kept us with a pod of orcas within the bay and I was able to capture some amazing images of tail slaps and a breach. This time Captain Jane took us on a long tour out among the islands where we witnessed another pod of orcas, many beautiful scenes and some additional wildlife, which was great. The topper was coming to the place where a couple humpback whales were cruising…just in time to capture one of them breaching three times!! That moment was one I, as a photographer, have been seeking during my last three tours. I can’t express how grateful I am to captain Jane and ocean ecoventures for making this possible. Great people. Terrific service and a fast, comfortable boat from which to enjoy the trip of a lifetime! Thank you thank you thank you!! I’ll be back!

We had a wonderful time on our whale watch tour. Taz, our boat captain, was great…so informative. We saw two different pods of Biggs Killer whales AND a humpback whale. We also saw Bald Eagles and harbor seals.

Such an amazing day from start to finish. My wife and I arrived early and got checked by Viktoria, who was very friendly and personable. When we were ready to suit up, Captain Gary took care of getting our marine safety suits and getting us on board. From there we departed promptly on time & set out into the Salish Sea in search of whales. Within the first 30 minutes we were already watching a solo male and shortly after that, positioned to another area where we met up with a pair of males who were known from getting stuck together in shallow waters near Alaska. On the move again, we flew down the coast to see a seal hiding near an island, a bald eagle trying to be camera shy and for the finale of the day - a mom and her 2 adult kids traveling together. Gary cut the engines, so we could hear them breathe (blow) before diving again. This was our first whale watching experience since moving to BC in 2023 and it did not disappoint. The weather was perfect, the water was calm & Gary was so knowledgeable and the animals & the conservation efforts. Thank you for an amazing time. This was a gift for my wife's birthday and you've made her birthday a memorable one!

Well organised but not the most enjoyable whale watching experience we have had. We found 2 Orcas fairly quickly then stayed with them at least an hour watching them, swimming from a distance ( if they had been more active I would have understood). Whilst the tour leader was very knowledgeable and informative we felt we could have moved off sooner to try find other wildlife. We then saw sea lions
Thank you for joining us and for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad you were able to encounter two wild Orcas and also see sea lions during your tour. As these are completely wild animals, we unfortunately do not have any control over their activity levels or behaviours on any given day. Even when Orcas are travelling or swimming at a distance, it is still a very special and privileged experience to be able to observe them in their natural environment. Our captains work closely with an extensive sightings and spotting network throughout the region and will always head to the whales where we believe guests will have the best possible encounter. This often also means choosing locations with fewer surrounding vessels to provide a quieter and more respectful viewing experience for both our guests and the whales. We do appreciate your feedback regarding wanting to search for additional wildlife sooner, and we will certainly take that into consideration. Thank you again for joining us.
