ニュージーランドのクライストチャーチにあるカードボード大聖堂（正式にはトランジショナル大聖堂）は、2011年のクライストチャーチ地震で大きな被害を受けたクライストチャーチ大聖堂に代わる、クライストチャーチ英国国教会の暫定大聖堂です。 カードボード大聖堂は、日本人建築家の坂茂氏によって設計され、2013年8月にオープンしました。 この大聖堂は、クライストチャーチ大聖堂の恒久的な場所から数ブロック離れた、ラティマー広場のヘレフォード通りとマドラス通りの角にある、旧セントジョンザバプティスト教会の跡地にあります。
ガーデン シティとも呼ばれるクライストチャーチは、手入れの行き届いた庭園と並木道のある英国愛好家の街です。 その最高傑作は、曲がりくねったエイボン川沿いのハグレー公園内に美しく建つ 52 エーカー (21 ヘクタール) のクライストチャーチ植物園です。 この植物園には、モクレン、ツツジ、250 種類のバラなど、季節の花々を含む何千もの外来種や在来種の植物や木々が植えられています。

It was a wonderful way to see Christchurch in a short period of time. Our guide was very knowledgable, friendly and informative. The botanical garden was breathtaking and the sanctuary was a fun place to visit. I would recommend this tour.

Unfortunately our tour guide was not a native English speaker and we couldn’t understand most of what he tried telling us. Very nice man but not what we had hoped for.

Justin, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of great, interesting information. He was energetic and friendly - very much appreciated! We had a nice stop at the Willowbrook Wildlife Center and saw the cutest Kiwi birds! The Botanic Garden was beautiful!

If you are connecting from the cruise ship, allow time to catch the bus into town (20-30 minutes to be safe). This is an excellent overview of Christ Church. Our guide was outstanding, knowledgeable, and thorough. We wish we had more time, especially at the botanical gardens.
