最初の石は1951年に敷設された。 古いセント・ジョン教会は工事の間そのまま残され、新しい建物が完成するまで機能し続けた。 熟練した職人による無償の労働のほか、多くの寄付が提供された。 これによって、20年の努力の果てに新しい教会ができるまで、その巨大な建造物は年々高くそびえ立っていった。 ロタンダが完成する直前、古い教会は慎重に解体され、その最良の部分は新しい教会の隣に繊細に再建された。 古い教会の残骸（現在は彫刻博物館として知られている）を訪れ、古いマルタの石のいくつかに信じられないほど繊細なレース細工を発見することができます。 彫刻博物館からは、ドームまでリフトで上がり、ゴゾ島や遠くマルタまで見渡す壮大な景色を楽しむことができます。

Amazing day on Gozo. Nick was excellent. Great knowledge and tailored the day to our needs. We saw so much in one day. The highlights were the rock archway, the cliffs and the first swimming spot seemed the best. Great to be in a car with AC and we saw more than the buses and the same as the hot thirsty people on quad bikes.
Great day and tour with Nick. He is originally from the UK so communication was easy. He covered the entire island of Gozo, a fairly big island, so we spent a lot of it in the car, getting out at key places worth seeing. He also recommended a nice place for lunch, right on the water. If you are interested in seeing Gozo, book with Nick! The ferry from Valletta was easy and cheap. Reserve ahead of time. Meeting place is a very short walk from the dock.
Was the absolute perfect Gozo experience and I would recommend this for any small group who is looking for a personalized experience.

Our tour guide/driver Kurt was excellent and tailored the tour to suit what we were more interested in seeing - he had fantastic local knowledge and we visited parts of the island we would never have seen on other tours - would definitely recommend.
