This was the worst trip of our trip to Rome. Absolute joke. The tour "guides" were awful. We learned nothing and were herded like cattle. The bus tour guide was super annoying. The guide at Pompeii seemed like a highschooler that had one day of training. City Wonders forced and awful lunch on us at 18 euros a person. The whole day was a money grab. Stay far away!!!
Great tour! It was broken into small size pieces so the day went by quickly and was very enjoyable. It was also a good break from chaotic Rome. Well Done and highly recommend.
We joined a City Wonders tour from Rome to Pompeii and Sorento. I have been in many land excursions from cruises and a few excursions when visiting an area myself. This tour was one of the most organized and punctual one I have been on. And they delivered on all the points of interest they said they would. Some tours don’t give the experience advertised but this one does. Sarah our guide was amazing with many details given and Paolo the driver was professional and provided smooth driving. Highly recommend them.
We had an awesome experience with Marisa. It was worth getting to see Pompeii with guidance. Sorrento was also such a beautiful stop. We did not have the Pizza.
I feel like the Amalfi Coast is the current "cool girl" experience in Italy, and it was at the top of my list when we planned our anniversary trip to Rome. I was a little concerned when we initially picked a trip that included a trip to Sorrento instead of Positano, but... I am here to say, GO TO SORRENTO! Positano is so busy and overrun right now, and this trip to Sorrento was the highlight of our vacation. It was beautiful, not super busy, and felt like existing in a postcard. The people we met were so kind and funny, and the views were SPECTACULAR! The trip to Pompeii was also wonderful and our guide had a really thrilling storytelling style - low tone with a lot of build up. Our guide for the overall tour, Marius, was an amazing person to spend the day with! I think that the only complaint I had was the headphone thing they used for the tour -- it was an earpiece and absolutely did not stay on either my ear or my husband's. The place we stopped at for lunch after Pompeii was fine but a little overpriced.
Great trip, highly recommended. Johnathan is a super experienced tour guide and knows a lot about Italian culture. I can only imagine how difficult it can be to keep 40+ people on schedule in a 32 degree heat but he managed to do it. Seeing Pompeii was also an important item on our bucket list with my husband so thanks so much for making it so memorable!
Wonderful day trip from Rome. It was a nice reprieve from the hot sun as we were able to see a few sites and then get into an air conditioned bus. Our tour guide, John, was fun, offered great recommendations and had a wealth of information. You can tell he loves his job.
Great experience. Our tour guide was actually extremely knowledgeable. He’s called John, he’s an American guy who’s been living in Italy for a number of years & had answers for everything. The trip was great. We stopped at Sorrento too.
