The agency organized a three-day private tour for me and my best friend and nothing was left to chance. The guide was experienced and also the accommodation were comfortable and lovely. I highly recommend both the experience and the agency behind it!

BEST TOUR!
Our guide David Jalea was fantastic! He provided great historical and cultural background and really unique insights everywhere we went. He brought the country to life for us - 1000% better with him than had we simply gone on our own with a guidebook. He knew all the funny/interesting nuances that made our trip so much more enjoyable. By the end of the trip, we had christened him our "Little Brother."

A guide who adapts to his guests, in planning as well as on the road
I spent five days traveling with David from Brașov via Sibiu to Maramureș and on to Cluj, as the only guest and with an individual package. He had put it together based on my needs. The coordination beforehand was remarkably fast: By that same morning, there was an offer available, which he adjusted to my preferences in two rounds.
David's greatest strength is his ability to adapt to people. He gets along with very different guests and cultures and does not just leave it at a well-planned route. While on the road, he actively looks for opportunities to address the special interests of his guests. In my case, that was dogs. It is simply the case that my heart is for dogs. I told him that on the very first day. As a result, we bought sausage at the supermarket and bought more later, he chose routes where dog encounters were likely, and stopped for many dogs, even shy, wild-living ones. According to his words, I was his first guest with this passion. He carried her along as a matter of course, even though dogs in Romania often have a completely different status. Hence the many dog pictures ;-)
David knows a lot about history and churches and explains things well, without overwhelming his guest with information. I especially appreciated his anecdotes, which make the country understandable: why the film of fat from old tallow candles helps restorers today, how the wooden churches of Maramureș organized their visitors, how wool was processed at the water mill in the past, and why older women in the villages wear their skirts above the knee. From many such details, a picture of the country, economy, and people emerged that I would never have gotten on my own.
He has a fine sense for what his guest needs at any given moment. At the Merry Cemetery in Săpânța, I stayed for almost an hour, and he gave me that time. Whenever I wanted to get out to find my own viewpoints, he stopped. We talked about everything under the sun, in very good English, and were just as able to be silent together and enjoy the landscape.
How much he is trusted locally was shown several times. A call to the pastor was enough, and we were able to visit one of the old wooden churches, even though the priest himself was not there. In Botiza, he organized a visit to a weaver on short notice through the guesthouse. He took care of the accommodations and their billing completely, and when I had accidentally given him too much, he pointed it out to me on his own.
David is reliable. He was always punctual, even for every scheduled breakfast, and thought ahead, for example when he pointed out a gas station for a bathroom break before a long stretch without any rest stops. He drives safely, calmly, and defensively and chooses his routes with a feel for the landscape, most recently a shortcut through autumnal forests while the fog lay in the valleys. His SUV is comfortable and in perfect condition.
My clear recommendation goes to everyone who travels with their own interests and wants more than a standard program. David offers a maximum level of individuality, in the planning as well as day by day during the trip.

Great introduction to Romania
David of Visit Transylvania Tours gave us a fantastic private 3-day tour of central Romania. He showed us everything we planned to see plus much more. We learned about the history and culture of the places we visited as our tour host drove, guided us, and explained what we were seeing all along the way. His tours of mountain sights, historic Peles and Bran Castles, ancient churches, as well as his suggestions for restaurants and even for local dishes in Brasov were excellent. We have traveled extensively all over the globe, but this was our first visit to Romania. We truly enjoyed our time exploring this rich and diverse country and plan to visit again and have David as our five-star tour guide.

A great way to spend a week in Transylvania
We spent a fascinating 6 days in Transylvania. David was an incredibly knowledgeable and engaging guide. An excellent and enthusiastic host for our trip for the 4 of us which took in the major sites and included bear watching and truffle hunting. A highly enjoyable 6 days in a lovely country with a guide who was likeable, very knowledgeable and helpful.

10/10 would recommend
I found this tour online while searching for possible itineraries in Transilvania and I couldn't be happier! I am a tour guide so I'm extremely picky about my travel experiences and trust me when I say that this was just perfect! Our guide David was so knowledgeable and kind, had perfect time management and great attention to details. He was driving and guiding at the same time and did a great job! The locations are pretty far from each other so every day we spent quite some time on the road but it was absolutely worth it, also because David kept us entertained explaining all the history of the country in great details. The hotel was lovely and in the best location possible, in downtown Brasov next to great restaurants and cafes. The food was delicious and one of the highlights was definitely having lunch with a local family. Absolutely nothing bad to say, great value for money and overall wonderful experience!

Excellent tour company
A casual traveller confronted with the complexity of Romania is likely to return with superficial and inaccurate impressions, not least because Bram Stoker's fanciful tale of Dracula dominates the way the country is perceived. To avoid bafflement on the battlements requires a guide to take you through the Looking Glass into a world as fascinating as that dreamed up by Stoker. That man is David Jalea, who breathes life
into history with personal stories about the characters who made their mark on the the country's tortuous past. Patient, courteous and flexible, David is the perfect host. I endorse everything others have said about him and his excellent company.

Good private tour for solo traveler
I booked a private tour with the company from Tuesday-Friday. Planning the trip was easy through email and I always got a very quick response back with good planning tips and ease to make an itinerary for the short trip. I was promptly picked up at the airport with excellent communication and brought to Transylvania. The three guides I had told me lots of historical information, they all were extremely knowledgeable and gave great tours of the sights we visited. We did everything on my list plus extras once I got there and saw more that I was interested in. I was on time to everything and didn't feel rushed. It was a great company to work with!

Brasov Trip to Peles and Bran Castle Guide David Jalea
Our Guide, David Jalea was simply AMAZING; we were a group of 4 (2 couples) and we felt at ease with our guide David all the time. We learnt many interesting (and new) things about Vlad and about backgrounds. We strongly recommend the experience.

Transylvania Tour
We had an excellent trip guided by David Jalea. David was a brilliant all round host, courteous, knowledgeable, reliable and informative. I thought his degree was in history but not so. He is an excellent ambassador for his company and country. We are looking forward to being guided by him again.
