At the same time, we are genuinely sorry to hear that your experience on the Original Sound of Music Tour did not meet your expectations. We completely understand that a tour covering several filming locations as well as the beautiful Salzburg Lake District involves a considerable amount of time on the bus. The locations are spread across Salzburg and the surrounding countryside, and the tour is designed to give guests the opportunity to see a variety of important filming locations within the available time. Nevertheless, we understand that you would have preferred longer stops and more time to explore the individual locations. We are particularly sorry to hear about your experience with Jose. Your comments do surprise us, as Jose is one of our most popular guides and consistently receives a great deal of very positive feedback from guests, particularly for his knowledge, humor and entertaining personality. However, we also fully appreciate that humor and communication styles are very personal, and what works wonderfully for many guests may not feel the same for everyone. Your personal experience and impression are important to us, regardless of the many positive reviews he usually receives. We are especially sorry that you felt uncomfortable or rushed during the restroom stop. Keeping a larger group on schedule is an important part of a guide’s responsibility, particularly on a tour with several stops and fixed timings, but this should always be handled with understanding and courtesy. We certainly understand your point regarding restroom queues and that delays of a few minutes can sometimes be unavoidable. We also appreciate your comments regarding the stop in Mondsee and the walk to the wedding church. For guests visiting a place for the first time, finding the way back independently can understandably feel confusing, particularly when time is limited. Your suggestion that the guide could provide an agreed meeting point and accompany the group back to the bus is understandable, and we appreciate you explaining so clearly why this part of the experience was frustrating for you. It is disappointing for us to know that the Sound of Music Tour left you with such a different impression from your Salt Mine Tour. We want our guests to feel welcome, well informed and comfortable throughout their experience, and detailed feedback like yours helps us understand where an individual experience may not have met those expectations.
