It started nice and the views were beautiful, but the horses either needed more training or aren’t meant for this (inexperienced riders/volume). One girls horse took off, she disappeared out of sight and the guide stayed with no attempt to go help. Thankfully we came upon her a few minutes later and she wasn’t hurt. Then another horse got rowdy, and the rider got off, unwilling to take the risk. Then this horse began to agitate other horse, as they let it run loose. Once back on the beach side with a rock wall to my right and a short drop to the beach on my left, my horse locked in on the loose horse that went up ahead, and just took off toward it. I pulled back hard, yelled at it, and there was no stopping it. I was seriously afraid of getting badly hurt like in a car with no brakes. I thought to pulled hard left, to turn him and break his sight of the other horse. I thought it worked, but he continued turning the 360 and began chasing it again. This happened a couple times until finally he stopped. I got off, not willing to get hurt over it. And a third person in the group did as well as that horse also began to buck and get rowdy. It was beautiful and maybe a very experienced rider could have managed or handled the horses better, but if you aren’t going hay, I’d give pause to consider your safety. The one objective thing to note is that the company gave me a refund and told me after I walked back, which was without me asking. I appreciated that, and don’t want to hurt their business, but safety considerations have to be shared.

We had an amazing ride! The horses are beautiful, and the route along the black sand beach is spectacular!

Me and partner booked this experience thinking it would be nice beach walk riding the horses as it sold to you. This is the not the experience we/ group got. The horses were anxious and not well trained some of which kept biting and kicking each other. The route taken was all single track and narrow between the sand and rocks with a drop off which wasn’t enjoyable. Another rider in group horse took off and left the group luckily she didn’t fall off. This also shock up all the other horses which almost had other riders off their horses. She also didn’t have a correct helmet as they didn’t have adequate head gear to protect her she could have seriously injured herself as her hat came off when the horse took off. There was also no real safety briefing or quick practice with the horses. There was many occasions where people asked for help and they was ignored. The guide didn’t seem to have control of any of the horses. It got the point where 3 out of 6 people had to get off as there horses kept trying to run off and almost had them off many times. Everyone in the group had times where there horses kept trying to get them off. I highly recommend you go with another tour guide and do your thorough research on the others. Some of the horses also didn’t have horse shoes and proper equipment. I have come through a horse background and done riding this was not acceptable to let people book. After the ride we then spoke to the manger on the phone which after hearing about our experience then gave people refunds.

This experience was just okay. Pros: The elderly man who is the boss was very friendly. The horses seem to be healthy and well-kept. The scenery at the beach was beautiful (as is the case with almost anywhere in Santorini). The boss and his helper offer to take photos for you in scenic spots. Cons: Despite having riding experience and being very comfortable on a horse, I had to remained tethered to a guide’s horse the entire time. My leg kept getting squished between my horse and the horse she was tied to. When I asked if I could ride untethered, I was told the horse I was on was “young” and the implication was she couldn’t be trusted to behave off-tether. I guess that’s fair, but I would’ve asked for a different horse if I’d known. Also, the boss’s helper seemed really checked out. As others have mentioned, he was on FaceTime pretty much the whole ride. I tried to make conversation with him but he didn’t really engage (perhaps a language issue, to be fair to him). Overall, the experience just had a really transactional nature. I hate to leave a bad or even neutral review, as the owner/boss was a really lovely elderly man, but overall I wasn’t wow’d by this experience.

This is best for people with little to no riding experience. I have a good amount of riding experience so it ended up being a little bit boring. The other girls who were on the tour had never ridden a horse before and they were tethered to the guides, but I was able to ride on my own. The horse that I had was not very well behaved, however. It was not terrible, but it was much less relaxing and enjoyable of an experience. Because I have riding experience, it was not as alarming, but if I were new to horses or nervous, I probably would not have felt completely safe on that horse. That being said, I think they gave me that horse because I told them I had riding experience. The beach is secluded, but it is littered with trash so be aware of that if you’re expecting pristine black sand beaches. The guide does not speak very much English and is definitely a down-to-business kind of guy, but he is a nice man. He and his other guide will stop and take photos in two different spots. My phone became full in the middle of taking photos on the beach and the guide was nice enough to take the photos on his phone and send them to me. they do give you a bottle of water and you can taste their wine after the ride. The wine is very good but strong so be careful! I would not consider this a tour, because they don’t really speak to you when you’re riding and they just lead you down the beach and back and take photos. They did give us a little cowboy hat to put on for a photo at the end as well. Really, this is an experience mostly just for the novelty of it if you have not ridden much or at all! I think it would be fun from that perspective. Be aware that transportation will likely cost you a lot to get here. There are no bus stations close by unless you wanna walk quite a ways. I paid more for the taxi to and from than I did for the tour itself (€80 round trip!), which I wish I could’ve known beforehand. I was staying in Perissa, which is about 20 minutes away by car. It would’ve been €50 round trip to Fira with the driver I had. There is no transportation offered as a part of this tour.

Amazing experience, the horse wete lovely I had Maria which was a bit cheeky but a sweetheart. The gent was awesome, even had some of his homemade wine which was delicious, definitely coming back

Such an amazing experience! Our guide was awesome and so nice! It definitely made our honeymoon that much more special and we will be looking back on it for years to come!
