This was one of the best experiences we’ve had in Japan!!! Nao is a wonderful teacher and she helped our entire family make beautiful manga drawing that we will hang at home. What a fun way to spend an afternoon in Tokyo. We even bought two of Nao’s books! Do not miss this!!!
Me and my kid came to this manga drawing class without any knowledge on how to draw manga and we got a very enjoyable experience of learning how to draw a manga character. The instructions were easy to follow, also the teacher shared tips on what to see and do while visiting Japan. We left with our drawings and a simple instruction booklet.
Thank you for coming and for your detailed review. We are happy to hear that you had a very enjoyable experience.
A really interesting and fun class with Yazawa-sensei! She is very knowledgeable and explained a lot of cool things about how and why manga is drawn using particular techniques. There are some basic foundational lessons + applications of body mechanics that make even a complex artwork seem easy! At the end of the lesson, I left with a fantastic drawing souvenir - which turned out far better than I expected - a testament to the excellent teachings of Yazawa-sensei! For me, this was probably my favourite activity in Tokyo! If you are a fan of anime and manga, I'm confident you will feel the same way after a manga drawing lesson!
Thank you for the excellent review. We are glad that you enjoyed your lesson and had a wonderful experience.
My 12 year old manga enthusiastic son and I loved it. Even without previous knowledge you are very well guided and draw a portrait of your own manga character within 2 hours. It gives you a lot of background knowledge about different positions and sizes of e.g. eyes depending on the age and gender of the manga character. Thank you very much
We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your lesson. Danke Schön.
Brilliant experience. Guided tutorial through drawing a manga character. Beginner friendly, I had little drawing experience and they were patient with clear instructions. I came away with a piece of art I was happy with and good memories. Highly recommend
Thank you for your kind and detailed review. We are happy to hear this.
You get a good understanding how manga artists think and work. We had great fun drawing and listening to Naos stories on how real Manga is produced.
Thank you for coming and for your great review. We are glad to hear this.
I booked a private lesson for my 17 year old son and me. I'm a complete beginner but my son is at an intermediate level. Nao-san tailored the class very well for both of us. She encouraged and guided him to try out his own ideas (I followed templates). He was impressed with her skills and how she demonstrated techniques effortlessly on the whiteboard eg showing how with only a few changes you can change a mood or character completely. I really enjoyed trying the g pen and special manga tools. Thank you very much Nao-san!
Thank you for your wonderful review. We are happy to hear that you and your son had a fun and insightful lesson with Nao Yazawa-sensei.
I learned from a professional manga artist and had a great time! Just getting to try tools I never usually use was really exciting.
We are to hear happy that you had a great time! Thank you for coming and for your positive review.
Taking this manga class has been an incredible experience. The instructor created such a welcoming environment that made learning feel fun, inspiring, and completely pressure-free. I loved how each lesson broke down complex techniques into simple, easy-to-understand steps. I genuinely feel more confident in my drawing skills, and I’m excited to keep practicing what I’ve learned. This class reignited my creativity, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who loves manga or wants to explore a new artistic hobby.
Thank you very much for your stunning and detailed review. We are glad to hear that you had a wonderful experience!
A different and fun experience! As a person who knows nothing about drawing, the teacher was very patient and simple to understand why it is for beginners! If you are more pro also gives you very good tips. In the end we left with a nice memory of Japan, something original! Highly recommended if you like manga or anime
Thank you so much for your positive review! We are happy to hear that you had a fun experience. Gracias por venir.
