We did our first ever cenote dive with Jose last week and had a fantastic time. He made sure my daughter was very comfortable with the plan and was a wonderful guide. The dive was simply amazing and something I would highly recommend for anyone to try. We are already talking about coming back with the rest of our family to dive the cenote with him again. My daughter thought so much of Jose's professionalism that she wants to experience other more adventurous dives with him. Thank you for making our time in Cozumel extra special!

I've used Cozumel Abyss Divers for five years this most recent trip was for my advanced open water certification. I had a one on one certification with Jose and it wasfantastic. I highly recommend this to anyone that wants one-on-one instruction.

Jose and Abyss came highly recommended by a dive buddy and it resulted in the best dives I’ve had of diving Cozumel in 30 years! DM Jose and Captain Didi run a smaller boat, they’re highly attentive, and they allow each diver to “dive their own dive”. Safety while have a fun day of diving is what Abyss is all about. It’s obvious why so many experienced divers are repeat customers. One of my buddies earned his AOW from Jose, and I observed some of the best dive instruction I’ve seen in my 32 years of diving. Avoid the “cattle boats” and go dive with Abyss for the best experience in Cozumel!

We spent two days diving with Jose as our private guide, and honestly, it simply couldn’t have been any better. Jose is an incredibly genuine and kind person, and on top of that, he has an unbelievable amount of diving experience. We felt comfortable and well taken care of at all times. Whenever we mentioned something we wanted to see—like nudibranchs—he immediately went looking for them and managed to find countless ones. He picked us up from our Airbnb every morning, making everything easy and stress-free. On top of being an outstanding dive guide, he also felt like our local guide on Cozumel. Every evening, he sent us recommendations for great restaurants and bars via WhatsApp. He even helped us at the pharmacy to make sure we bought the right medication. His wife, who was often in the car when he picked us up, was incredibly kind as well. She always asked how we were doing, how our dive day had been, and whether there was anything she could do to help. All in all, it genuinely doesn’t get any better than this. If I could, I would do every single dive—anywhere in the world—with Jose as my guide.

This was a great introduction to scuba diving for my teenagers. Jose went over the basic skills we had to accomplish before our dive. He explained things very well and was patient with us as we learned the necessary skills. We had a very good experience and felt very safe the entire time.

My first time in Cozumel and I was lucky enough to dive with Jose and Cozumel Abyss Divers, who make sure you have a great experience. Perfect diving conditions, we saw a bunch of spotted eagle rays. Highly recommended! I'll be back.

What an incredible experience! Jose taught me the skills I needed to know to feel comfortable and safe in the water. He was very knowledgeable and patient. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in a first time dive experience.

Just returned home from a 5 day trip to Cozumel. I logged 9 boat dives in addition to 1 cenote dive all with Cozumel Abyss Divers during my visit. Our dive guide Jose was professional yet fun. Our dive boat picked us up at the resort each morning & returned us all, safely by noon with plenty of smiles on our faces & stories to share with each other over lunch at the resort. We all had our personal dive gear, but the boat was fit with our tanks and weights. In addition, the boat offered us fresh water, juice, fruits & cookies!
