A very informative tour about the history of the local Jewish community! We had no idea about the area where Jewish settlers originally established themselves here in Venice. Genny was incredibly thorough and gave us a detailed overview before we visited two different synagogues. Even though the neighborhood is compact, it is packed with culture and full of "hidden in plain sight" details you would easily miss on your own. Highly recommend!
The tour guided was very informed and very gracious. She answered all questions and showed us very interesting facts about the area.
We took the Jewish Ghetto tour during a brutal heat wave and despite the heat, this was one of our best experiences in Venice. Our guide, Elena, lives in the Ghetto, which gives her a particularly personal relationship to the place and to its history. Elena was so lovely - warm, engaging, incredibly knowledgeable, and she gave us a deep understanding of the Ghetto and its history. I highly recommend this tour, especially with Elena - it's an unforgettable experience and a place with incredible history and palpable memories.
Jenny is a knowledgeable guide! And a welcoming hostess! There are a lot of stairs in the synagogues so be prepared for that. You will need to cover your shoulders but basic shawls are available free.

Historical and moving. Accurate and educational. Worth every minute!! It was our favorite part of our Venice experience. Our guide Elena, literally lives in the Ghetto. She knows everyone in the Quarter. She was warm, deeply knowledgeable and very engaging. Pure sweetness and charm. Just the best!!!!
We had a terrific tour with Elena. She engaged everyone in our family - aged 12 to 50 with her stories and information. As a native Venetian, she shared stories from her own family history, as well as those of the community in the ghetto. I couldn't recommend her tour more strongly!

What made it even more special is that she actually lives in the Ghetto, with her family's roots in Venice going back hundreds of years — that personal connection brought the history to life in a way we won't forget.
