Too much waiting around, got picked up 6:30, got there 6:50, especially with driver( major tailgate) , didn't get offered rum punch until almost hour later, then finally was taken out to the bay. Was not organized, people were falling asleep waiting so long. The luminous bay was awesome, but would not recommend.
Absolutely NOT worth it. We were picked up at 4:30 to take a 1 hr 20 minute bus ride to the location arriving g close to 6:00 PM. We then sat in a holding area until 7:30 for it to become dark. They took us on a 5 minute bus ride to the area and we spent 15 minutes in the water and took a 1 hr 20 minute ride back to the hotel. You can look at photos online and see all you need to. Don’t waste time and money on it.
Good morning karen, thank you for sharing your insight on this experience however you were not my customer I don’t know why you would have wrote a review on our page, we do not pickup guest at 4:30 for any of our luminous experiences that would have been way too early for this tour for sure considering the time it takes to get dark. Nevertheless we do apologies your experience did not meet expectations. Our pickup time with our company is usually rescheduled based on where yours staying.
The trip went as expected and it was definitely a fun experience. The crew was great and attentive. The only negative comment I have is that it is bit pricey. You are in the water for only about 30 minutes and the pictures are at additional cost of $40, which brings a total cost to $120. I have done a lot more fun things for less amount of money.

Tour guide was great at explaining how the algae creates the glow. Also very patient and helpful with people who are a little apprehensive about getting in the water. Once in the water he took pictures for us. Our driver Gregory was fantastic as well. Talked to us about the surrounding areas and how the hurricane devastated some of the areas around. Highly recommend this tour and group.

Description says 1 hour 30 minutes. It was 45 minutes max. Driver also dropped us off at the wrong spot and had to come back and get us. It all seemed a bit unorganized. It was a cool experience, but I would book through someone else.
Good day Kelsey, we do apologies for the slight misunderstanding there was with the location. Our driver made a blunder which I personally apologies to you for and I can understand you voicing your concern about this. This has never happened with us before and I can assure you it will never happen again. We had an incident at one location and temporary moved our docking location. The driver was not updated in time as this happen during the transfer hence you got to the wrong location first. As soon as we communicated this he immediately got you guys back and the bus and moved you next door to the new dock location. We do appreciate you enjoying the tour regardless of this blunder and we also do wish to host you again one day in the near future.
My Son Jose asked me to take him to Jamaica just for this experience. I have to admit it was more magical than I could have ever imagined. I’m so glad we did this 😁

I had a great time at the Luminous tour. The water was perfectly warm and it was a great excursion to experience at night. My tour guides as well took great photos and made sure we all had a great time
Another couple and us went on this excursion. The ride was about an hour from our Dunn’s River resort. There are around 10 places in the world where you can experience this bioluminescence. The building you wait at for it to get dark enough to go out in the boat is nothing special, and the boats are pretty basic-but, that is not why you go. We had Captain Duke. He was an older gentleman that spoke pretty good English. He took us into the area, just off the dock about 5 minutes away, to get into the dark as best as we could. He stops to explain why this happens and gives a few rules. Note, the water is only 3-4’ deep and the bottom is full of sediment-kinda nasty and no jumping or diving off the boat. Suggestions: -this will take up your night-we left around 6 or 6:30 and returned to the resort around 9-9:30 -take some cash to tip your driver and boat captain -wear water shoes and an old bathing suit because the water is brackish and the sediment at the bottom -ask the captain for a life vest and float on this to keep your feet out of the sediment -someone on the boat will take pictures-ours were not good, so we did not buy them -take a dry bag or other bag to put belongs in while on the boat -bring towels to dry off -I had a waterproof container for my phone to take some pics and videos -consider doing this a couple of days before the end of your trip so your water shoes and bathing suit have time to dry Enjoy this unique experience.
Ride over and driver were nice. Unfortunately, we wished for more time on boat and in water. Hoping for more music and bonding time on boat.
This was truly magical and such a bucket list experience. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a little magic in their trip. The guides were wonderful and so much fun and I’m so grateful for the moment they created and captured for us.
