Average experience - not the experience for skilled riders
Unremarkable experience. I'm an incredibly organized and punctual person, so I made sure to confirm our pick-up time with the operator more than a day ahead - I had chosen a 5 pm tour and was advised we'd be picked up around 4 pm. 4 pm comes, we advised hotel staff we were expecting transportation pick up and were waiting in the lobby. 4:15, still waiting so I called the operator and was advised they were on their way. 4:30, still nothing, called again, they said the transportation had already picked up my group... I assured them that was false and that they were mistaken because we had been waiting in the lobby the whole time. They said they'd figure it out and call me back. At 4:45 I'd ran out of patience, I called again and advised that it was totally unacceptable to be this late picking up a group that if someone wasn't there in the next 10 mins I was cancelling and wanted a refund, and what do ya know... they showed up in the next 10 mins. The drive to the location? 10 mins from our hotel so not sure what the hold up was. Decided I wouldn't let this determine the energy for the day - the place seemed fine, you sit through an instructional speech. My group have ridden horses before so we're very comfortable on horses - regardless of your riding skill EVERYONE must wear a helmet, which we aren't fans of, for a multitude of reasons - sanitary reasons and just the inconvenience of having it on. As I mentioned, we're skilled enough, we like to go fast, and we weren't really given the opportunity to do so - i guess liability reasons. This is probably a good speed for groups who are first timers or just want to have a slow relaxing ride - not adrenaline seeking groups. The ride along the beach is nice, its not the nicest beach but it was fine.. Our tour guides were really nice, they were more bound by restrictions from the company but were still so nice and hospitable - they were the highlight of our tour. It was an ok experience, I'm sure the transportation issue was a one-off, but it's enough that along with the overall experience I probably wouldn't book again.

Had a good time. The route/trail we rode on was nice, there was a little jungle experience and then we went on the beach through a little bit of water where we took pictures. The horses were kinda of hardheaded a few times and would do their own thing but other than that it was a beautiful experience. The tour guides were also very nice as well

Do not recommend
Not like the pictures at all. The horses did not seem to have good living conditions and were agitated and jumpy in response. We felt very unsafe the whole tour. Do not recommend.

Would not recommend
This was one of the most frightening and upsetting experiences I’ve ever had. The excursion was extremely sketchy, and the experience was nothing like what was advertised.
They claim the horses are well-trained, but based on what I personally experienced, I strongly disagree. You don’t get to choose your horse, and you don’t learn anything meaningful about the horses, their personalities, their training, or what to expect before getting on. I specifically told them that I was scared and that I had NEVER ridden a horse before. Instead of taking that seriously or making sure I was comfortable, they completely disregarded my concerns.
One of the biggest issues for me was how the guide treated my horse. My horse would try to stop and eat, and the guide repeatedly hit my horse to make it move. I repeatedly told him NOT to hit the horse while I was on it and told him that if the horse needed a break, I was completely fine with stopping. Despite me clearly saying this multiple times, he continued.
I also noticed that my fiancé’s horse was flinching every time the guide came near it BEFORE everything went wrong. That was extremely concerning to me, especially considering what happened afterward.
Halfway through the excursion, both of our horses suddenly freaked out. My fiancé’s horse threw him off and then ran away. The staff were unable to find his horse. My horse also took off running and nearly threw me off. I was terrified and had absolutely no control over what was happening.
What made the situation even worse was how the staff handled it. I was shaking and crying after everything happened, and instead of stopping the excursion or making sure we were actually okay, they repeatedly told us we were “fine” and made us CONTINUE. My fiancé had literally been thrown from a horse, his horse had run away, and mine had nearly thrown me off, yet they still expected us to continue the excursion.
The entire experience also left me extremely concerned about the treatment and condition of the horses. Based on what I personally witnessed, I have serious concerns about whether these horses are being properly trained, cared for, and treated appropriately. I obviously cannot speak for what happens when customers aren’t there, but what I witnessed during our excursion was enough to make me very uncomfortable.
I understand that horseback riding comes with risks, especially when dealing with animals, but there is a major difference between normal risks and ignoring an inexperienced rider’s concerns, repeatedly hitting a horse after being asked not to, continuing after a rider has been thrown off, and telling someone who is visibly shaking and crying that they are “fine.”
This was supposed to be a fun experience for my fiancé and me, and instead it became a genuinely terrifying situation. I would absolutely NOT recommend this excursion, especially to anyone who is inexperienced or nervous around horses. The way the horses and riders were handled was extremely concerning, and I would not feel comfortable putting myself or anyone else through this experience again.
