The house is really nice and the tour guide is very detailed. It was really fun and knowledgeable if you’re into architecture.

Roman was kind and very informative. We enjoyed this hidden gem, the first house that Barragan built (not the last one which is more famous). There was some confusion about what tour we had booked, but fortunately we figured that out ahead of time. We were a small group so could really enjoy ourselves.

Daniel was an excellent tour guide and the Ortega house was unforgettable. Do yourself a favor a be immersed in the color of light of Louis Barragan’s hidden gem the Ortega House.

This is a great tour for anyone interested in the beautiful, colorful architecture of Luis Barragan. Casa Ortega was the first house he designed for himself, and it illustrates how he experimented with materials, indoor and outdoor spaces, and of course light and color. Our guide Daniel was deeply knowledgeable but also provided information in a way that was accessible and fascinating to those with an architectural background (me) and those without (my friend). The extensive and beautifully designed gardens were a surprising treat. Informative and enjoyable!

If you visit the Luis Barragán House, do yourself a favor and book this tour. Our guide was wonderful, thorough, passionate, and consistently checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. His deep knowledge of the architecture and the story behind how this iconic home came to be at its location made our visit much more meaningful. We would never have appreciated the significance of the design details, especially Barragán's extraordinary use of color, without someone who understood them so well. Truly one of the highlights of our trip to Mexico City.

Maite did a terrific job providing a tour of Casa Ortega, Louis Barragan's first house, to myself and two other guests on a small tour this past week. The tour was informative, but also fun, engaging, and relaxed, a terrific vibe for which she helped set the tone. I wound up doing three Barragan houses during my stay in CDMX and this was my favorite, because of the architecture and the tour itself. Recommended.
