We had a lovely tour with Mariagrazia! She gave a beautiful recount of Sicilian history on our way to the dock, lovely recommendations of what to do with our time in Taormina, and ample time to spend there! We had a big group of six, including my grandparents, and her and her team were so kind as to make sure that they got on and off the boat with as much ease as possible. While half of our group went swimming, Maria and the Captain entertained the rest of our group on the boat with stories of her personal life and vice versa. She also provided some special treats that were not only delicious but supported the small businesses in Messina. 10/10 would gladly book again!

We had an incredible day with Lillo! Getting off the ship and into the bus was a breeze even in the rare downpour of rain we experienced that morning. Lillo had a paper with our name on it and a big smile welcoming us to his island! Once we got to the bus our driver was waiting and eagerly welcomed us aboard and was very concerned with our comfort! The driver to the port to catch our boat was informative and the views where breathe taking. There was only my wife and myself on the boat and we felt like royalty the entire ride! Our captain was curious and went out of his way to ensure a comfortable ride (the water in the beginning was choppy 3.5’ seas. Obviously the grottos were incredible and after we had all our pictures taken we made sure to enjoy some swimming in a cove! While my wife in I swam with fishes that the captain had attracted over to us with some bread Lillo had prepared us some champagne and cookies which hit the spot. The tour would have been enough there but then we got to drive up the hill into Taormina where we ate at a local restaurant our guide had recommended and no surprise it was one of the best meals we had in Italia! After we explored the town it was time to head back to the ship but first Lillo made sure we had some cannolis and gave us a quick explanation of the history and mechanics of the duomo bell tower! He offered to wait for us to explore the church so that he could guide us back to ship but after the long day he had already given us we figured we could figure it out and sent him home! This made our entire vacation and we will book with Discover Messina again!

It was a perfect itinerary for cruisers and cost way less than the same tour from the cruise ship. There were no worries about getting back on time, and we were met right outside the cruise ship. We were able to take a boat and go swimming, saw fluorescent blue and green water in the grottos, and had prosecco and almond cookies. Toured Taormina and had delicious cannolis. Mariagracia was the perfect tour guide and was just awesome! Will do it again next year when we are on a different cruise but end up in Messina one more time! Can’t recommend it enough!

The tour was perfect! We started with the drive to our first stop, with Maria explaining the area along the way. She and the driver were kind, funny and they genuinely wanted everyone to have a fun time! Next we took a beautiful boat ride, where we entered some caves along the coast, then swam in the Ionian Sea which was breathtaking! We then went to the town Taromia, where we shopped and ate an adorable restaurant. On our way back to the cruise ship, we stopped and had freshly made cannolis (so fresh that she called in our order and they were filled right before we got there)! As we exited the tour van, Maria gave us wash an Italian cookie to bring back. I would give this tour more that 5 stars if possible!

We were on this tour 1 week ago, a group of friends with children, our guide was Antonella and honestly we loved it. Both the explanations and the boat trip, the swim (fantastic) and with enough time to visit Taormina. 100% recommended experience.

The most amazing day exploring Taormina and the blue grotto with Antonella and the Tonys. So much enthusiasm, passion and energy, this trip was a highlight of our time in Italy. We were nervous about doing an excursion outside of our cruise, but everything went like clockwork and they kept a close eye on timings. Would 1000% recommend.

Perfect for a cruise. We had time to see Taormina, eat there, and enjoy a boat ride with half an hour for a refreshing swim. Punctuality, attention, and friendliness. Our guide Antonella was wonderful.

This was a fantastic tour! I loved that it included swimming with the hot walk in Taormina. Very nice balance of activities and offered different views of the landscape! Mariagrazia was an excellent hostess and took us to get cannolis. Try the chocolate one if you can!

The communication was great. The morning of tour, we got notice that it would be easier if we wore our swimsuit. We did but no where in the tour overview or details did it say we were going to do that. So glad we did!! The water was perfect after nice boat tour - so clear and blue. Then on to shopping and lunch in Taormina and then finishing off with a cannoli back in Messina left the tour with a very sweet taste.

Fabulous tour Maria was a wonderful guide and very informative. Our boat tour was fantastic and Francesco was great. Tauromina was a beautiful little town. Highly recommended this tour and a highlight of our holiday so far.
