ハレアカラ・マウイ・サンセット・トワイライト・ツアー（ディナー付き）

First of all, they were over an hour late to pick us up. Second the ride up was painful. The driver was also our guide. His voice was muffled over a poor sound system and screaming toddler in the front seat. I gave up hearing anything he had to say. At the park entrance we had to wait in line for 30 minutes due to only one park attendant. Finally reached the top 10 minutes before the sun went down. We hurriedly ate our sandwiches on the bus and then they asked us to leave as they were evacuating the mountain due to the storm. The sunset was beautiful but I would not recommend this company especially for the price. Some things like the storm was not their fault but poor coordination of pickup and also booking a toddler on a night tour plus poor idea of “dinner” was.

It's a nice experience to have. The sunset was beautiful but the sun went down so fast. It could have been better but that's out of anyone's control except God. We still enjoyed the tour and met people from different places. Just an FYI, don't set your expectations so high so you won't be disappointed.

The tour itself was fantastic! The driver/guide was an excellent driver and was extremely skillful navigating the switchbacks, hairpin turns, lack of guardrails in some spots with multi-thousand foot drop-offs The views were spectacular and we saw one of the most memorable sunsets at 10,000 feet. Dinner was a box-dinner with a nice salad and a delicious cold-cut sandwich. If there was anything that wasn't exceptional, it would be that the bus was a half-hour later in picking us up than it was scheduled. By itself that wasn't a problem except that there was no text, call, or other message to inform us that the delay was caused by construction and that it was ok. The other issue was price. It was pricey, but the deep knowledge shared by "Uncle Mitch", our driver/guide was extensive and captivating, for the entire six hours. That, the natural beauty, and the surreal experience of watching the sun set on the tops of the clouds as we looked down at them from 10K feet made all problems coalesce into nothing that couldn't be handled. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that enriches your soul. A must-see when in Hawaii.

Such a beautiful evening. One minute your so disappointed because its cloudy and raining but then as soon as the sun begins to set the most amazing sun set. Being so high and seeing the cloud base below you was a truly magical experience especially for my kiddo, she was almost lost for words. I am so glad I did not do the drive myself. Our driver was informative, fun, and we felt safe with his careful driving up and down the volcano. I see myself as a very respectful tourist and I have to say I am sick to death of picking up rubbish, trash left behind by tourists who just don’t care. My daughter and I have filled two trash bags of rubbish during our trip to Hawaii on beaches, nature reserves, in the sea, and top of this amazing Volcano. It really is not difficult to take your trash to bin.

It was amazing our driver preston was the best!

Had a terrific time up there, Preston did a terrific job giving us great information about all different kinds of stars , planets , the history of Hawaii, etc. It is also very affordable, it was a nice surprise when I saw the initial admission fee :) A beautiful atmosphere with the group and had the best time, it truly is worth waking up at 1:30 am :)))

The sunset was beautiful and the tour guide was friendly overall it was a nice experience. Make sure to wear warm clothes

We took a tour thru Polynesian Adventure to see the sunset at Haleakala. We chose not to have a car on this trip so we did everything thru tour companies. Our bus was late picking us up but when I called, they gave me an update. We met another tour bus at a shopping area to switch drivers/meet other passengers. The shopping area was nice and I wish we were able to spend more time there. The driver was friendly and informative. You can take a lot of good pictures on the way from the bus. We stopped at one of the main signs for a photo op. Bring warmer clothes to put on when you get there as the temp drops. I read that it’s colder for sunrise compared to sunset. I recommend sunset for that reason and for more picture taking as the ride up to summit would be in the dark if you go for sunrise, and you are getting up really early. Also, warm clothes take up room in your suitcase. Dinner was included in the price (sandwich or salad). The driver also had warm drinks once we got there and cookies. The dinner is passed out once you get to the top of the summit – you are supposed to eat on the bus as food is not permitted in the park. I think it would have been nice if we had a different stop to eat at. Once you get to the summit you have limited time and eating felt rushed. You can go to the very top (another .5 miles by walking 2 different path choices). We chose not to do that due to feeling rushed and the altitude change can cause breathing issues. We took many great pictures without walking to the top – this was one of my favorite excursions of the trip. For the folks that drive, parking is limited and you could be turned away. Also, you will have a long drive down in the dark. It was nice having a tour driver worry about this drive. I would recommend this tour group. My main suggestions for improvement is to allow more time at the top of the summit and have a different stop to eat dinner.

Saved the best for last. This is our last excursions before heading home. Sale was an awesome tour guide. I want to come back with friends and do the tour again with him!! He was enriched with so much history which mad the trip even more memorable.

We waited over one hour for the sunset. We could have gotten there 30 minutes before sunset and spent more time at the first stop which looked very nice. Additionally, previous bus tours I’ve taken had a guide that wasn’t also the driver. I question the safety of the driver giving the tour when he should give full attention to driving. Also, the driver/guide was very nice but his English was often difficult to understand.
