Gareth was our guide and he was outstanding. He had a great sense of humor, was engaging, well-versed and simply fun to be with. The tour was a great experience. We ran into similar Beatles tour groups throughout the day, it was obvious to us that we had the best guide.

My wife and I had an absolutely fantastic day in Liverpool, and without question one of the highlights of our entire trip was our Beatles tour with Ian Doyle of Mad Day Out Taxi Tours. From the moment Ian picked us up in his wonderfully decorated Beatles-themed taxi, we knew we were in for something special. The vehicle itself set the perfect tone for what became an unforgettable journey through the history of The Beatles and the city that shaped them. Ian was an outstanding guide — incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about both Liverpool and Beatles history. He took us to all the iconic places connected to the Fab Four: where they were born, grew up, met, practiced, performed, and ultimately began changing music history forever. What made the experience exceptional was not simply seeing the famous locations such as Penny Lane and Strawberry Field, but hearing Ian bring each stop to life with historical context, fascinating stories, and local perspective that we never would have discovered on our own. If you are visiting Liverpool and have even the slightest appreciation for The Beatles, do yourself a favor and book with Ian Doyle. This was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip through England, Scotland, and Ireland. Five stars without hesitation. Highly recommended.

Our driver Ian provided a wonderful Beatles tour through Liverpool with his great taxi and shared a lot of background information with us. In the end, he fulfilled a special request from my friends... a quick trip to the football stadium in Liverpool. Absolutely recommended

I had a wonderful experience with Ian on the Rickenbacker tour and highly recommend the experience. I was visiting Liverpool from New York with my father for his 75th birthday and decided to arrange this tour since my father is a Beatles fanatic. I was convinced my dad was the world's most knoweldgable Beatles fan, but that ended once I met Ian. Ian was so knowledgeable and informative, he even stumped my father on two pieces of Beatle trivia which was a first! He was also cognizant of my lack of Beatles-knowledge and did an excellent job weaving together a captivating story of each Beatles early lives in Liverpool. Ian was also incredibly professional and courteous. Booking directly with him was easy and communication on pickup and drop-off was a breeze (he picked us up directly from Lime Street station and dropped us off at our hotel). Overall it was a wonderful, relaxing way to see Liverpool and Beatles history in the comfort of your own private car (which is a piece of art in itself). I highly recommend!

Fantastic tour. Seeing Liverpool and Beatles locations was a bucket list experience for husband and me. We booked independently off a cruise. It was just the 2 of us and we had plenty of room in the cab, which holds up to 6 passengers (although I think 6 would be a tight fit). The price was still less than doing the cruise tour. The cab is highly maneuverable and could get to stops that were way closer than the tour vans and buses. Ian was highly knowledgeable and had a folder full of pictures. As a side bonus, he stopped and picked up a man walking on the side of the road - my husband and I thinking that's nice, offering a ride - turned out to be Colin Hanton, drummer in the Quarrymen. He was so nice and easy to chat with. As baby boomer Beatles geeks, we were extremely happy with the tour and glad we did it.

Second tine in 2 yrs we had had the tour. To say the least it was fantastic , what Ian does not know about the beatles history is just not worth knowing. The tour lasted 3 hours , during which he answerd any question we could think of fully , his knowledge is amazing . Can only hope he keeps the Tours going as we are heading back to Liverpool next year with other friends and will certainly book him for a further tour . Thanks Ian

Ian is an absolute gem. We were a party of 6 with one of our guys totally blind. Two of us with sparse Beatles knowledge and others younger and didn't know much about them. We were all gob smacked at Ian's knowledge and his ability to make the history of the group and neighborhoods that we visited come alive. Even our blind member loved the dialogue and detailed descriptions provided. Ian has spent a lifetime loving and following this group and his research has given him great insight into the smallest detail of the group's history which was at times joyous and then heartbreaking. I was a teenager when the Beatles changed the music and culture in Britain and became a member of the Beatles fan club those years ago but I never knew a fraction of what was covered in this trip. I found the whole experience quite moving at times but came away with a deeper love for the period and far greater admiration for the four lads, yet saddened at how many lost opportunities Liverpool councils had ignored the heritage of related landmarks they have now destroyed. If you are considering a Beatles tour, this MUST be your choice. You wont regret it. It isn't a whistle-stop tour, you get terrific detail with Ian. We had a whole afternoon trip which wasn't enough for me personally as I could just keep soaking it all up.. Thank you so much Ian and all your friends at the various stops , especially the girls at Strawberry fields. Pure Magic.

Ian gave us a brilliant time in Liverpool telling us about the Beatles early days and showing us all the important landmarks. We had a jolly time in the considerable comfort of his new electric taxi. Highly recommend this three hour trip! Thanks Ian. Mike, Louise, Blue and Jane.
