江戸時代、品川の近くの海岸は漁業に使われ、小さなけれど豊かな漁村が誕生しました。この地域は商業漁業にはもはや使用されていませんが、まだ多くのノスタルジックな痕跡が残っています。背景の高層ビルと水にドッキングされた古いハウスボートの並置は、東京の「古いものと新しいものが出会う」というモットーを完璧に垣間見ることができます。最近では、港には最後に残った漁船とともに、「やかたばね」、つまり飲食用の遊覧船があります。 地元の人々に知られているのは、地元の開発によって破壊されていない家の隠れたエリアです。ガイドは、緑の生け垣と素晴らしい古い家が並ぶ小さな路地を紹介します。ここでは、漁村での生活がどのようなものだったか想像できます。

メインの東海道から分岐するのは、多くの小さな通りと路地で、地元の寺院が隠され、古風な趣のある古い家々が緑に覆われています。住宅用車線の中央に井戸が見えることもあります。これは、以前は地元の家に水を運ぶために使用されていました。他のほとんどのポンプはずっと前に破壊されています。
旧東海道を探索した後、新馬場通りを散策し、聖徳寺をご覧ください。カエデの木に囲まれているため、秋は特にきれいです。この寺院には、近くの工場から取られた古いレンガの壁で作られた非常に普通のフェンスがあります。
709原神社は709年に設立され、雨を祈るために人々が訪れる龍神の場所として崇拝されています。目黒川の隣に位置し、1062年に神に捧げるために近くの川から水を取り、北日本との戦いで勝利を祈ったと言われています。雨季（6月）に開催される毎年恒例のお祭りの本拠地で、みこしが水に運ばれます。この神社の彫刻は非常に複雑でユニークで、芸術に興味がある人には一見の価値があります。 E原を見るのに最適な時期は、川に沿って咲く桜に囲まれた春です。
品川神社は、近くの宿場町の守護者として1187年に設立されました。ここには、実際の山を登る力やお金を持っていなかった崇拝者のために建てられた「藤塚」またはミニ富士があります。富士山実は日本最大の藤塚で、高さ15mです。山のふもとから取られた岩から作られています。富士山また、この神社には多くの別々の建物、赤い鳥居、たくさんのコインを洗うと運命が上がると言われている一ツman万白の泉と呼ばれる噴水があります。 +小さな喫茶店になった古い民家でリフレッシュしてください。自家製の焙煎茶、緑茶、季節の大日本菓子などを提供しています。 *ここで止まらない場合は、ガイドが代わりに別の場所に連れて行ってくれます。

Charlotte was our tour guide today March 16,2026. We walked around an interesting area in Tokyo. Not only was Charlotte very knowledgeable of the area, but she presented it in an easy understandable way without going into too much boring details like other tour guides often do. She was polite, kind and very friendly. We enjoyed every minute during our tour. She also explained many interesting and cultural aspects of Japanese life. She answered all our questions and also helped us with different needs that he had about how to get around the city. We highly recommend her and this tour.

We really enjoyed this short walking tour of Shinagawa, learning about its history and the symbolism that still remains for hundreds of years. We visited old buildings, temple/shrines, and local businesses that still remain tucked in among the modern buildings. Our guide, Eriko, shared lots of history and knew the area very well. She even took photos of us and sent us the digital album right after the tour.

Our tour guide Kaori,was excellent. She gave us a complete history of the area. She had paintings and drawings showing how life was in the bygone era. As well as showing us historic sites She introduced us to a wonderful coffee shop. The tour was well worth it

The Tokyo old town walking tour really supplemented our visit to Tokyo before we joined a 13 day tour of Japan. Charlotte our guide was extremely knowledgeable after living in Japan for 20 years. She had a gift of knowing what would interest us and tailoring the tour to suit our interests We enjoyed the best coffee we had in Japan in a little bookshop in a street that we would never have found We also enjoyed walking around every day Tokyo streets where people live off the tourist trail Charlotte also gave us lots of tips for future experiences whilst visiting Japan (food, bars etc) Thank you Charlotte!
