Tour Operator Cancelled Tour One Day Before Departure Date
Before booking this tour, you should be aware of my experience with the tour operator, who cancel this tour one day before the tour was scheduled to depart. My tour date was September 1, 2026 and I received a notice for the tour operator on August 31, 2026 that the tour was cancelled as there was insufficient participation. The notice apologized for the inconvenience caused by the cancellation. The cancellation of a tour is much more than an inconvenience when you have to take the time out of your trip to find another tour at the last minute and paying more the replacement tour.
This tour was booked through Viator several months in advance of the scheduled tour date and Viator charged my credit card for the payment 2 days before the cancellation. My credit card was promptly reimbursed by Viator for the full price of the tour.

A Peaceful and Romantic Florence Experience
We wanted our day in Florence to be more than just rushing around trying to see every landmark, and thankfully we had enough time to enjoy the city at a comfortable pace.
Seeing the Duomo together was unforgettable. The building is incredibly detailed, and standing there in front of it gives you a completely different appreciation than seeing photographs. We walked toward Ponte Vecchio, explored the surrounding streets, and stopped several times just to enjoy the atmosphere.
Our favorite part was probably the free time. We found a nice place for coffee, shared some gelato, and spent time wandering without constantly checking the clock. Florence has so many beautiful corners that it's nice to have a little freedom to explore.
We were also very conscious of the cruise departure schedule, so having the return transportation organized was reassuring. It allowed us to relax instead of worrying about finding our way back.
For a couple wanting to experience Florence during a cruise stop, this was a really enjoyable day.

Florence Was the Highlight of Our Cruise Stop
A group of friends traveling together can sometimes have very different ideas about what to do, but Florence gave us plenty to enjoy. We had enough time to walk around, see some of the famous sights, grab food, shop a little, and take photos without trying to turn the day into a race.
The Duomo was incredible to see up close, and Ponte Vecchio was probably the place where we spent the most time taking pictures. We wandered around Piazza della Signoria and enjoyed the atmosphere before finding a small place for coffee and gelato.
We especially appreciated having free time rather than being guided every minute. It made the experience feel more relaxed and allowed us to explore according to our own interests. Since we were coming from a cruise, returning on time was also a major concern, and having that transportation handled made the day much easier.
Five stars from our group. Florence was absolutely worth the trip from La Spezia.

A Wonderful Day in Florence
We had a really enjoyable day in Florence during our cruise stop in La Spezia. Traveling with the family, we wanted to see as much as possible without feeling rushed, and the day worked out very well for us. Florence itself was beautiful from the moment we started walking around. Seeing the Duomo in person was even more impressive than the pictures, and walking across Ponte Vecchio was one of our favorite parts.
The free time gave everyone in the family a chance to do something different. Some of us looked around the shops, while others wanted to stop for gelato and coffee. We also enjoyed simply walking through the streets and taking in the old buildings and lively squares.
What mattered most to us was knowing that we had transportation arranged back to the cruise port. We could enjoy our time in Florence without constantly worrying about how to get back to the ship. It was a long day, but definitely one of the highlights of our cruise.

Mislead in Florence
Doesn’t say it’s a walking tour
A lot of walking and to fast a pace for some with a disability .
Time was poorly controlled and not enough time at Pisa
Would not recommend this tour
