I would just like to clarify the amount of walking and the stairs for future guests reading this review. The bus takes guests almost all the way to the Upper Town, so there is no long uphill walk. The route includes only one staircase of approximately 50 metres, leading down from the Upper Town to the Lower Town. The total walking distance is approximately one mile, or around two kilometres, spread over about two and a half hours. It is not a continuous walk: the guide makes frequent stops along the way, and there are many benches and places to rest. Tallinn Old Town is historic, and many of its streets are paved with cobblestones. They have been this way for centuries and are simply part of the character of the medieval Old Town. Of course, everyone’s level of mobility is different, and what feels easy for one guest may be more demanding for another. We simply recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes, as this makes the tour much easier and more enjoyable. The ferry is a very large passenger ship, with plenty of places to sit and relax. For example, you can sit in one of the cafés, order a coffee, and normally find a comfortable place away from the crowds. As for the steep cobblestone streets, our transfer from the port takes guests directly to the Upper Old Town. From there, the tour follows streets with only a gentle slope, mostly downhill, so there is no need to walk uphill. Thank you for booking our tour. Regarding your review, I would like to clarify several important facts for anyone reading about this experience. Your booking voucher clearly stated that you needed to be at the ferry terminal at 8:00 AM and board the ferry no later than 8:30 AM. Unfortunately, you arrived at approximately 8:30 AM, when boarding had already closed. The ferry was scheduled to depart at 9:00 AM, but, just as with an airplane, the departure time is not the same as the latest boarding time. If a flight departs at 11:00 AM, arriving at the airport at 11:00 AM does not mean that you can still board it. The same principle applies to ferry travel. In addition to the information provided directly in your booking voucher, we sent you your ferry tickets and detailed boarding instructions by email approximately two weeks before your trip. We also sent the same essential information, together with your ferry tickets and boarding passes, via WhatsApp in order to make sure that you had everything necessary before departure. We have timestamped records and screenshots confirming that this information was sent before the date of the tour. When making an online booking, customers agree to the booking conditions and are responsible for checking the voucher and messages relating to their reservation. The required arrival and boarding times were therefore provided to you through several different channels before your trip. After missing the ferry, you contacted us and requested reimbursement for the replacement ferry tickets. We explained at the time that there was no basis for such a refund because the original ferry was missed after the stated boarding deadline. Despite this, we did not simply leave you without the tour you had booked. After you purchased another ferry ticket and travelled to Tallinn, we arranged for you to join another group so that you could still experience the tour. You received the sightseeing service, a professional guide, and the return transfer to the ferry terminal. We were not obliged to rearrange the service after the original ferry had been missed, but we did so because we wanted you to be able to enjoy Tallinn and not lose the entire day. We are pleased that you were ultimately able to visit Tallinn and that, as you also mention in your review, you had a positive experience with the tour guide. We regret that the beginning of your day was stressful, but we believe it is important to clarify that the required boarding information had been provided in advance in the voucher, by email, and via WhatsApp, and that we still made every effort to provide the tour after the original ferry had been missed.
