We travel often (6-8 cruises/year) and book private/semi-private tours everywhere we go, so we have a lot of perspective on what makes for a good experience. Our tour guide was Joel and he was truly fantastic. We ported in Falmouth, Jamaica and set out to do three unique experiences in a single day. It was going to be tight but we wanted to see what we could get done and would adjust as the day went on if necessary. In a period of 4.5 hours we did each of the below: - Drive from Falmouth port to Dunn's River Falls: 45 minutes - Climbed Dunn's River Falls: 1 hour - Cliff jumping + rope swings at Blue Hole: 1 hour - Tubing down the White River: 1 hour - Drive back to Falmouth port: 45 minutes We made it back to our ship with over an hour to spare and had an absolutely incredible day. We're so grateful for the experience and look forward to our next experience with Marvyn's!

My family and I did our tour with Marvyn and it was absolutely perfect! He took us to experience different activities in Ocho Rios such as the blue hole, tubing and the beach. He was an excellent tour guide with so much knowledge and hospitality. My family went in two separate groups and compared to their experience with locals being pushy at shopping areas, we felt safe with Marvyn and he never let anyone bother us. Our experience in Jamaica was amazing thanks to his guidance and the beautiful attractions. I will definitely be going back and booking with Marvyn again!

I can honestly say this is one of the best trips we have ever been on. We were picked up by our driver and guide Dalton who was absolutely brilliant, he was attentive throughout the day and ensured we had the best guides at each experience, he was warm, friendly with a wealth of information and all with a beautiful big smile, he made the trip exceptional. First stop was Dunnes Falls, an outstandingly beautiful area with a 600 metres climb up through the waterfalls to the top, this is such a great experience and the guides are so jolly and helpful making this experience so much fun. Second on to Blue Hole Tour where Dalton arranged for Robert to take us through to the most breathtakingly beautiful experience. All thanks go to Robert who took such good care of us ensuring we were safe at all times along with his colleague who was taking pictures, so sorry I didn’t get your name but you were so lovely to us. What can I say, Robert made this trip exceptional, he is infectious with such a joyous demeanour, singing, encouraging and actually jumping in with me on one jump as I wasn’t sure I could do it but I’m so glad I did as it was magical. Thank you for making this our favourite part of the day. Next on to River Tubing, travelling through the small villages getting a taste of the real Jamacia with Dalton providing such a wonderful flavour of the people and where they live and make their living. We were met here by the lovely Leon our guide who took us on a beautiful trip down the river. Singing his songs (he’s not a singer but an entertainer- his words not ours- Leon you are brilliant don’t sell yourself short) but that aside he was infectious and fun, pointing out places of interest and giving us a flavour of Jamaican life, We were escorted down the river by Reggie the dog who swam beside us part of the way, this made my husbands day and he will relay this story many times I’m sure. In conclusion, thank you, thank you, thank you Marvins Tours, The exceptional Dalton and wonderful guides most especially Robert and Leon you are sensational.

We were collected at the Port by our driver Kenneth, everyone knew Marvyn’s Paradise Tours which was great. Kenneth was brilliant took us to each of our destinations-hooked is up with the best guides and gave us tips / history / local insights which was so interesting ! Marvyn called personally to thank us for our custom and to wish us a great day - such a nice gesture.... Will be visiting Ocho Rios again and WILL BE BOOKING with Marvyn’s again, great value for an exceptional (safe, well organised, fun) day !!! Make sure to take a change of clothes and towels !

All of our emails prior to the trip were quickly answered. Probably the best competitive price. Was nice to have a private tour just for our family of four. Two car seats were provided as requested. Sean was waiting for us at Falmouth and was easy to locate. He was very friendly and we felt secure and welcome around him. He gave us just the right amount of cultural information. He had welcome drinks for us in the van and the AC worked well. We managed to fit in Dunns, Blue Hole, Tubing, and Scotchies. Sean did say he was going to get us a VIP guide at Dunn's. Somehow that fell through and we got stuck with a large group, which wasn't the end of the world. He was able to call-in or food order so it was ready for pick-up. On the drive back to the port Marvyn called to make sure that everything was satisfactory. If we're ever in Jamaica again we will definitely use Marvyn's Tours again and ask for Sean.

We booked Marvyn's Paradise Tours for the Dunns River, River Tubing, and Blue hole tour. Our guide picked us up on time and was very informative on our way to each of our destinations. We loved it so much that we booked our next two tours (Green grotto caves and glistening waters) through Marvyn. Campbell picked us up early for each of these tours and was amazing! He not only took us to our destinations on time, but brought us to nearby must sees, gave us the history behind each location, and took several pictures of us. Overall, I would highly suggest booking through Marvyn's Paradise Tours. Marvyn was also excellent in responding to my e-mails. I would e-mail him at 9 PM about a tour the next day and he instantly responded and set it up for us the following day!

This tour was our favorite part of vacation. We were a group of 10 (two families with 6 teenagers). Dalton picked us up from the cruise port right on time, and we were quickly off on our adventure. He was kind, engaging, friendly, and informative. He took us to the falls first--to avoid the crowds. We skipped using a guide and did the climb on our own. Then it was off to river tubing. Our guides were fantastic--they sang to us, laughed with us, and saved us from floating away. SO MUCH FUN!! Next was lunch, which was jerk chicken or pork, rice and beans, and festival (like a donut or fried dumpling--yum!). Authentic, tasty, and filling. Our final stop was Blue Hole--AMAZING! Our guides Little T & Daniel were fantastic. They made the whole experience, calmed fears, and encouraged us to be brave! At the end of the tour, Dalton made a quick stop for us to do a little shopping, and Marvyn stopped by to say 'hello'. And we were back in plenty of time to board our ship. :) We highly recommend Marvyn and his team!

This was my fourth trip to Jamaica in three and a half years (which should tell you how much I love it) and our day with Marvyn's Paradise Tours was hands down the best day I have ever spent, in my favorite island paradise. I contacted Marvyn via email a few weeks before we arrived and he was one of the only tour operators who actually replied to my inquiry. Not only did he reply quickly, he provided detailed information about the tours he provides and made it clear that he would happily take us anywhere we wanted, even if it wasn't on his tour list. His motto is "If you can dream it, we can do it!". He clearly outlined the venues/attractions and the prices associated with each, as well as his service fee which, was much cheaper than any of the pre-packaged tours that I usually go on when I travel to Jamaica. As someone who teaches customer service in a large company here in Toronto, I really truly appreciate good customer service, and Marvyn certainly surpassed any and all my expectations. Some people are just naturally fantastic when it comes to customer service and I put Marvyn in that category!! Marvyn showed up promptly at our hotel at the agreed upon time. His optimism and energy is infectious, and you can't help but smile as you get to know him and his pride and love for his home. My partner and I enjoyed the drive through Ocho Rios, asking questions, and seeing parts of the city we would have never otherwise seen. Our morning activity at the Blue Hole was phenominal. Forget Dunns River - when you show up at the Blue Hole with Marvyn you get treated like royalty. My partner Mike and I had our own personal guide as we climbed and jumped off waterfalls, who also happily used our camera to snap pictures of us while on our adventure, at no extra cost. Marvyn patiently waited for us while we explored the attraction and I felt 100% confident at leaving our belongings in his van while we were there. Next Marvyn whisked us off to go tubing down a lazy river, all the while telling us about growing up in Jamaica and even stopping to point out local flora and fauna. He called ahead to the river tubing place and the guide was ready for us as soon as we got to the venue. No waiting, just straight down to the river with a great guide (Dwayne) who sang for us on our leisurely float down the river. Despite the fact it was raining on and off that day, it didn't dampen our spirits. As it started to rain as we finished our lazy river adventure Marvyn even went so far as to bring the van around so we didn't have to walk in the rain. Again, fantastic customer service!! When we arrived at Scotchies for lunch, Marvyn gauged our hunger level and then made recommendations on what we should order. That was by far the BEST jerk pork I have ever eaten. I'm still drooling thinking about it. We had a lovely time sitting with Marvyn while we ate lunch, cracking jokes and trading stories. We had originally planned to go shopping in Ocho Rios with Marvyn but when the time came, I asked if it would be ok if we did something else. Marvyn assured me that I was the "boss lady" for the day and we could do whatever we want. I suggested Turtle River Gardens and Falls (which oddly enough, Marvyn used to work at when it was a hotel) and he happily took us over to the venue, and waited for us as we took a garden tour. He joined us towards the end at the aviary (review of this venue to follow shortly) and I think he had as much fun as we did feeding the exotic birds and having our pictures taken with parrots on our heads! After the Gardens, Marvyn took us sight seeing in the hills, going through Fern Gully and again, talking to us about local culture and customs. My favorite vacations are always the ones where I get to actually learn about local culture rather than sitting on a beach all week and our time with Marvyn taught me a lot! We stopped at a friend of Marvyn's roadside stand and learned about local natural remedies and tried dried merengue seeds, while drinking coconut water straight out of a coconut. My partner (a chef) picked up some jerk sauce to bring home and the owner of the stand even sorted my partner out with some tonic to help with the cold he was battling. You don't get that kind of experience with your traditional pre-packaged tour from the hotel!! If you have any doubt in your mind, erase it. Marvyn hand picks his staff/drivers and takes his business very seriously (with a giant smile on his face all at the same time). He clearly loves doing what he does and he works really hard to ensure that his customers have a day they won't forget. I cannot speak highly enough about Marvyn and I am already telling all my friends and family if they go to Jamaica, they absolutely have to call Marvyn. There will be no regrets... Actually, that's not true. I do have one genuine regret - I did not get a picture taken with Marvyn to mark the special day; good thing Marvyn made the day so unforgettable!! I guess that just means we have to go back again soon so we can all take a picture together! Thank you from the bottom of my heart Marvyn. You made my 35th birthday trip to Jamrock the best.
