ジャヤ スリ マハ菩提樹は、スリランカのアヌラーダプラにあるマハメウナ庭園に立つ神聖なイチジクの木、またはフィカス レリジオサです。それはゴータマ・ブッダに最も近い本物の生きたつながりであるだけでなく、植えられた日付と記録された歴史が知られている世界最古の人間が植えた木でもあります。
Brazen Palace (Lowamahapaya) 紀元前 2 世紀にドゥトゥグムヌ王によって建てられた 9 階建ての修道院の跡です。この建造物には、食堂、集会場、支部会館があり、屋根は青銅の瓦で覆われていたと言われています (そのため、「青銅の宮殿」という名前が付けられました)。
ルワンウェリセヤは、スリランカ北中部州の古代シンハラの首都アヌラーダプラにあります。ドゥトゥガムヌ王 (紀元前 137 年 – 紀元前 119 年) によって建設され、彼の死後、弟のサダティッサ王によって完成されました。ルワンウェリセヤは、世界で最も高い古代遺跡の一つにランクされています。

クッタム ポクナ (双子の池またはプール) は、スリランカにある保存状態の良い古い沐浴タンクまたは池です。この一対の池は、古代アヌラーダプラ王国のシンハラ人によって建設されました。これらはアバヤギリ ヴィハーラ複合施設の一部を形成しており、古代シンハラ人の水文学工学、建築、芸術の分野における作品の一例です。
サマーディ仏陀は、スリランカのアヌラーダプラにあるマハメヴナワ公園にある有名な仏像です。仏陀は、最初の悟りに関連した瞑想の姿勢であるディアナ ムードラの姿勢で描かれています。この像は高さ 7 フィート 3 インチで、ドロマイト大理石から彫られています。
ジェタワナーラーマーヤ・ストゥーパは、スリランカのアヌラーダプラ州で最も象徴的で神聖な仏教記念建造物の1つで、マハーセーナ王の時代に建てられました。 かつては120メートルを超えてそびえ立ち、古代世界で最も高いレンガ造りの建造物の一つであり、上座部や大乗仏教の学問の主要な中心地であった。 今日でもジェタワナラーマヤは重要な巡礼地であり続け、その莫大な規模と歴史的意義、そして時代を超えた建築美で称賛されている。
ムーンストーンとしても知られるサンダカダ パハナは、古代スリランカの建築のユニークな特徴です。これは精巧な彫刻が施された半円形の石板で、通常は階段や入り口の底に置かれます。
時間が経つにつれ、石のほうが耐久性のある素材だったため、アヌラーダプラ王国の建築家たちは、ガードストーン、ムーンストーン、欄干の建設に木の代わりに石を使用するようになりました。ガードストーンの進化の次の段階は、彫刻の導入でした。
アヌラーダプラの象の池 (Eth Pokuna) は、スリランカの歴史的なアヌラーダプラ王国の王の統治時代に建てられた巨大な古代の貯水池です。長さ約 159 メートル、幅 52 メートル、深さ 9.5 メートルのこの池は、近くの修道院に水を供給するために使用されました。この池の名前は、象も収容できるほどの巨大な大きさに由来していると思われます。古代スリランカの工学技術の証であるこの池は、当時の水力システムの創意工夫と機知に富んだ技術を際立たせています。
聖地アヌラーダプラにあるトゥパラマヤ仏塔は、紀元前 3 世紀に遡るスリランカ最古の仏塔とされています。デーヴァナンピヤ ティッサ王によって建てられたこの仏塔には、仏陀の鎖骨の聖遺物が安置されており、仏教徒の崇拝の地となっています。仏塔の鐘形のデザインと周囲の石柱は、古代スリランカ建築の優雅さを反映しています。仏塔は、島に仏教が伝来した後に建てられた最初の仏塔であり、歴史的にも宗教的にも非常に重要な意味を持っています。
アヌラーダプラにあるイスルムニヤ寺院は、精巧な石の彫刻で知られる、美しく歴史的に重要な岩窟寺院です。紀元前 3 世紀に建てられ、もともとは仏教僧の聖域でした。この寺院は、古代スリランカの卓越した芸術性を示す見事なイスルムニヤの恋人の彫刻で有名です。静かな蓮の池と彫刻された岩層に囲まれたこの寺院は、穏やかな雰囲気を醸し出しており、歴史愛好家とスピリチュアルな探求者の両方にとって必見の場所です。

Navin picked us up directly at the hotel and on time, despite having to change the pickup time due to a setback with our meal. He welcomed us with 2 cold bottles of water, which were appreciated in the heat of the day. From the very first moment, it felt like traveling with a friend, sharing the history of the city, Buddhism, and even some anecdotes and jokes. We recommend getting the ticket to the UNESCO heritage area; it is definitely worth it!! We had a wonderful and unique afternoon; we cannot imagine a better way to have discovered the charm of Anuradhapura. A guide I would recommend to anyone without a doubt; he makes the day an unforgettable experience!!

We had a great tour with Navin. After he picked us up in the tuktuk at the hotel he gave a lot of information about Buddhism and the city! Jokes were also present! We had a great morning with him where we were allowed to ask everything! We really recommend this to everyone!
