Better than I expected

I booked a last minute trip to Milan and of course the tickets to the last supper were sold out. I signed up for this tour, just thinking it was a tourist tax since it was so much more than just getting the tickets from official source. But, I was pleasantly surprised by our tour guide Simone. He was really knowledgeable about history and meaning of not only the last supper, but Leonardo, the building itself and the other artwork in the building. I honestly was shocked, because I wasn’t expecting the insights he shared on the restoration, body language, survival of the mural, etc. I would definitely recommend this tour if you are in the same situation I was and Simone was available

Worth It Experience

This was a great experience. China, our guide, was exceptional. Her love of Milan and of The Last Supper were evident. She even went above a d beyond by giving us great restaurant recommendations at the end off the tour.

Best Leonardo painting, but pricey for 15min.

Book in advance and it’s ok to not use a guide, but you will miss details if you don’t do your own homework. It’s expensive for 15min of viewing time on two paintings. It is well worth a visit to admire the art that has the power to overwhelm your emotions. I would have preferred to pay half had I preordered my ticket 6months prior. You get picked up by the nice guide, get your tickets, go through security, and wait for your time slot.

A must see!

We learned so much from Sylva. She was friendly, knowledgeable and engaging. Grateful to finally see this masterpiece! The story about the process of completing it and subsequent decades of restorations, gives us a more complete understanding. Pleasant bonus to take in the architecture of the Basilica!

Not worth it

$300 for 15 minutes. Total rip off

事業者からの返答

Dear guest, Thank you for your comment. We'd like to clarify an important point: the 15-minute time limit inside the Last Supper hall is not a choice made by our tour, but a rule set by Italy's Ministry of Culture to protect Leonardo's masterpiece — it applies to every visitor, regardless of which operator they book with. That's exactly why our tour lasts a total of 1 hour and 30 minutes: in addition to the 15 minutes in front of the Last Supper, our guide takes the group through the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie (a UNESCO World Heritage site) and its surroundings, sharing historical and artistic insights that go well beyond the viewing itself. We're sorry this wasn't made clear to you during the tour, and we'll take it into account going forward. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions. Kind regards

Cool Insights on a Hot Milan Day

My tour was exceptionally informative and wonderfully rich. Our guide, Sara Nuzzi, was immensely knowledgeable about every stop on the itinerary — so much so that I decided to take the extended tour, which included a memorable walk from Santa Maria delle Grazie to Sforza Castle, La Scala Theatre, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and the Duomo. There wasn’t a single question she couldn’t answer, and I asked more than my share. Standing in the refectory among two Da Vinci frescoes was unforgettable. Hearing not only how and when these masterpieces were created, but also learning about the extraordinary 20th‑century conservation led by Pinin Brambilla Barcilon (1925–2020) added a profound dimension to the experience. Barcilon — born in Monza and internationally respected for her scientific, meticulous approach — was one of Italy’s foremost experts in Renaissance mural restoration. Her work on The Last Supper began in 1977, when the mural was so heavily overpainted and damaged that she initially questioned how much of Leonardo’s original surface remained. Over 21 years, she removed centuries of added paint using ultra‑delicate methods (including Japanese paper), stabilized the fragile wall, and recovered Leonardo’s authentic forms and expressions. Her restoration is widely regarded as the most respectful and successful conservation the mural has ever received. Today, visitors can see The Last Supper with clarity because of Barcilon’s dedication, precision, and insistence on scientific rigor — including the careful use of X‑rays and diagnostic imaging to distinguish original pigment from later additions. Her work set a new standard for modern mural conservation and ensured that Leonardo’s masterpiece survives for future generations.

An Unforgettable Experience—Worth Every Minute!

This Viator tour exceeded every expectation and was one of the highlights of our trip to Milan. From start to finish, everything was incredibly well organized. The check-in process was smooth, and our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate, bringing the history of Leonardo da Vinci, Santa Maria delle Grazie, and The Last Supper to life with fascinating stories and insights. Standing in front of The Last Supper was a truly unforgettable moment. Seeing one of the world’s greatest masterpieces in person is something no photo or video can replicate. The guide’s explanations gave us a much deeper appreciation for the symbolism, artistic techniques, and remarkable history behind the painting, making the experience even more meaningful. The timed entry ensured a calm, intimate atmosphere, allowing us to fully take in every detail without feeling rushed. Every minute of the tour was worthwhile, and the guide struck the perfect balance between sharing historical context and giving us time to simply admire the masterpiece. If you’re visiting Milan, don’t miss this tour. Booking through Viator made the entire experience seamless, and having such an outstanding guide transformed a visit to a famous painting into one of the most memorable experiences of our vacation. Highly recommended!

Informative tour, nicely presented by authentic local guide

This was a pleasant experience. I arrived 5 mins late at the meeting point, but the operator send me a whatsapp enquiring where I was and I could still join as planned. The guide Gianluca was relaxed yet very informative and authentic as a Milanese, and provided interesting detail and background about The Last Supper & Leonardo. Just the right mix of hard facts and happy anecdotes. Plus you get to see this interesting original artwork by an outstanding historic artist and scholar. Highly recommended.
