Not crowded, relaxing, and super high-quality tour course.
We were looking for an activity to enjoy Lan Ha Bay near Cat Ba with kayaking. We also wanted night kayaking, but did not want a hiking course the next day. This tour was just perfect for that. The lunch on the boat was amazing, the activity plan was comfortable, and everything was just perfect.
Especially, our guide ★Tyler★ was the best. I say it again, he was a really great guide. I really want to compliment him. ★Tyler★ was so friendly and explained everything in detail. Whenever we needed help, he always stepped up to help us right away. Thanks to him, we had the best experience ever.
I highly recommend this tour!

A great day
Although the day was slightly altered to the original itinerary, they made it work well for us. Ryan was a great tour guide and seeing the bioluminescence at the end of the day was fab.

Cat Ba full day/night tour
Our experience in the island and at the Bay was incredible from the start to end, and thanks to Cat Ba Local. The organisation, the communication and the services are excellent. The local guides share their experience with you and we had a great time with them. We had a very complete, park/bay, day/night tour. Much recommended! Thank you to the whole tea, it was a pleasure!

A truly unique bay tour with locals

Great experience 2 day boat tour
Had a great experience did a 2 day tour with several activities, loved swimming in the water it was so still and calm we were one of the only boats in the area which was peaceful. Luu was a great tour guide great English and helped with any questions I had. Food was good and the views were amazing

Not as good as other tours
Although our guide was friendly, and the meals were excellent, the overall experience was disappointing. - The boat was old and poorly maintained, with a filthy toilet, the life jackets borrowed from the kayak operator were disgustingly dirty.
The route was definitely not less touristy as we encountered 11 boats gathered at the kayaking site at one point - and we had to wait to enter the cave. The other groups we met at least had their own vests, the same color, which made it easier to find your way around in such a flood of kayaks.
Additionally, the trip lacked organization; it was actually a combination of two separate tours. At one point we were left without a guide for 45 minutes at the floating homestay, waiting for the next part to join. Overall, I do not recommend this tour due to these significant issues.

Perfect day on the water
I can only echo the other reviews here. 12+ hours on the water with the most amazing views. Small group, good vibes and somehow they manage to avoid the bigger groups. Just perfect. Highly recommended!

Very fun and a great vibe!
Fantastic tour! So happy I did this, I did the day trip cruise and night kayaking combo and it was a full and fun day! So interesting seeing the fish farm up close, and we spotted brown and black monkeys on the islands!! the water was warm for the bioluminescent plankton at night. Ryan and Luu were fantastic guides with a great vibe!

Fantastic experience
We had a great experience with Viet and Luu from Cat Ba Local. We did both the full day boat and kayaking tour, as well as night kayaking.
Both times we were with a small group of people which allowed us to really enjoy the nature. Both trips were operated like clockwork, and were very organised. The local guides were knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. The food served on the boat was fantastic, and catered very well to vegetarians. If you have any doubts about the plankton tour, it’s well worth the trip. We were told to pick a day with a dark sky (I.e clouds) for the best experience. They picked us up from and dropped us off ant our hotel which makes it very easy. We would highly recommend Cat Ba Local.

Great day/night trip! Highly recommend 🧡
The day/night cruise trips were great! Very relaxing for the day cruise and speechless for the night kayaking as we saw the bioluminescent plankton and the luminescent jellyfish. It was incredible. A long day though so if you have time I would recommend to do 1 day for the day cruise and the next day the night trip or vis versa.
Our guides were super nice and helpful but I particularly loved Ryan’s energy and his English was mind blowing as he never left Vietnam, apparently. I had a great time the entire time and the views were amazing. Not many people on the boat with us and only 2-3 other cruises boats where we were stopping so it doesn’t feel super touristy and quite preserved. And the food was also great!
I highly recommend Cat Ba Local 👌🏼
