Clara was wonderful. So knowledgeable of the history of San Sebastián and the tour and food were amazing. Everything was excellent.
We had a wonderful evening with Sara on this tour. She checked whether we had any dietary requirements in advance and took us to 4 different pintxos bars. We were happy to put ourselves in her hands, and really appreciated her thoughtful choices of venue, pinxtos and wine pairings. She ensured we experienced a mix of classic and contemporary places and her recommendations were spot on. After the tour she sent us details of all the places we'd visited and what we'd eaten and drunk there, plus suggestions for other pintxos bars. As well as being a good host, Sara was great company - we felt very relaxed with her and afterwards we felt like we'd spent the evening with a friend rather than a guide.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Private Gourmet Pintxos Tour with Clara! Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable about pintxos culture, but she is also a wonderful storyteller, historian, and passionate ambassador for San Sebastián and the Basque Country. We scheduled the tour on the first day of our stay in San Sebastián, hoping to gain a deeper understanding of the city's food culture, and it proved to be the perfect introduction. As we wandered through the charming streets of the Old Town, Clara brought the city to life with fascinating stories, local history, and insights into the traditions behind pintxos. She thoughtfully tailored the experience to our dietary needs, making it both educational and delicious. By the end, we felt less like tourists and more like guests being welcomed into the local culture by a knowledgeable friend. We highly recommend the Private Gourmet Pintxos Tour—and especially Clara—to anyone looking to discover the food, history, and spirit of San Sebastián. It was a wonderful start to our Basque adventure.
Clara our guide was incredible she was so knowledgeable & fun we went to amazing bars & the food was unreal ! we also met some lovely people from UK & New Zealand which made it all the more pleasurable...I would highly recommend doing the tour & even better if you have Clara as your guide !!!
Incredible Pintxos tour hosted by Clara. Was the highlight of our trip to San Sebastian. She was so knowledgeable, took us to places we would never gone to & we tried dishes we never would have tried. - absolutely fantastic evening.
Sara showed us that the best pintxos aren't on the bar but in the kitchen. A fantastic evening, incredible food and wine, and a brilliant introduction to Basque food culture.
We had an absolutely fantastic food tour in San Sebastián and can honestly say it was one of the highlights of our trip. Esther was an exceptional guide - warm, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about both the food and culture of the Basque region. What made this tour so special was that Esther took us far beyond the obvious tourist spots and introduced us to some truly unusual and authentic food locations that we would never have discovered on our own. Every stop had its own story and character, and the food was outstanding throughout. Esther’s knowledge of the local buildings, history and Basque culture added a completely different dimension to the experience. Walking through the streets whilst hearing the stories behind the architecture and traditions made the whole evening feel immersive rather than just a food tour. The perfect ending was the famous Basque cheesecake which was simply incredible and a fitting finale to an unforgettable experience. If you are visiting San Sebastián, we would highly recommend this tour - and if you get Esther as your guide, you are in very safe hands!
Booking a tour isn’t something we would normally do but I’m so glad we did. Esther our guide looked after us so well - highlighting the local history and architecture and making sure our visit in each bar / restaurant was perfect. We visited 5 places and ate fabulous pintxos in each - every one was Esther’s recommendation so we were trying dishes we might not have chosen ourselves and each one was superb. It was also a great social experience - our group was great fun which added to the overall experience. Really excellent and good value for money.
We were a group of 6 friends with varying levels of interest in gourmet food. Our guide Esther was excellent. Everyone was blown away by the food, all the selections were fantastic. It was nice to get some idea of the history of the town while we moved through the tour. Esther was very approachable, knowledgeable and genuine. Highly reccomended.
