Gelsomina was a wonderful guide through Herculaneum. She had a detailed knowledge about the history and explained everything very clearly. We could have easily spent the entire day with her.

Thomas was very good guide.. he very knowledgeable and very amusing and gave us interesting little facts so not like a history book, and explained the personalities of the people who lived there at the time and personal stories which keeps the interest. .thank you. Really enjoyed.

Beware of the transportation supposedly "included" in the price. We were supposed to be picked up in Naples, however there was no information or contact regarding the trip there. Do not even try to contact Viator or World Tour, you will reach people who will tell you that they are going to contact another person who will contact another and you will never get a follow-up or an answer to your request. The tour itself was very interesting with relevant explanations, and a reasonably sized group. I would recommend this part. For the return, for the children, this time it is possible to bring us back but for an additional €20... Abusive, knowing that the 30-minute train ride between Naples and Ercolano costs €2.60.

Be careful when booking regarding pick up locations. I was under the impression that my party of 3 would be picked at the Napoli Marine Terminal and I upgraded the tour for that reason. When I called the morning of the tour to reconfirm our reservation I was told we would not be picked up and that the tour schedule had changed from 1:30 to 2:00 pm. I had just received an email saying we should arrive at the park at 1:00pm for the 1:30 tour. It was very confusing and disappointing as I was expecting that the upgrade would include the pick up. We got to the park at 1:30, for the new start at 2:00. The tour started at 2:30. There was a lot of confusion with the tour guides. We were told that we did not have a reservation even though I had made a full payment and the e-tickets were on my cell phone. We had to wait for 2 more guides to arrive at the park. The guides were pleasant and assured us they would get it straightened out and they did but it was very stressful waiting for the authorization to come through from the local office. The other group of three that we toured with had a very similar experience with their pick up point and the time change. Alessi was our guide, he was phenomenal. He was knowledgeable and the tour structure was well planned and enjoyable. The other 2 guides were very helpful and worked to get everything sorted out. What is confusing is that we were told that this particular tour does not include a pick up point however the other tour guests were offered a pick up which was changed and caused them to have to reschedule their plans. I would like to request a refund of 65 euros (our cost to get to the park) and the additional 1 hour that we waited for the tour to start. Please advise.
