Excellent trip exploring Lake Skadar, such a beautiful place. Alex, the boat captain and guide, was so helpful, hospitable and knowledgeable and made the 2 hour trip all the more enjoyable. There were loads of operators running similar tours but from our experience we would most definitely recommend Alex and Kingfisher Boats.
Had a 2 hour boat tour of Lake Skadar with Kingfisher boats. The scenery was absolutely stunning and our tour guide Alex was very friendly, had a great sense of humour, was helpful and incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the area and especially about the wildlife on the lake. We saw lots of kingfishers, pelicans and many other birds. It has been a highlight of my trip to Montenegro, not to be missed.
Lovely 2-hour gentle boat ride on Lake Skadar. Our guide Alex was informative and deeply knowledgeable on the lake's flora and fauna. The birds and wildlife around this beautiful lake need to be seen. There is a stop for a 10 minute swim in the lake if you desire. Refreshments drinks are provided including local wine on the way. Highly recommended.
The lake was breathtaking and thankfully the weather was good as well. The overall tour was good. My only concern was people were openly smoking on the boat and with children around as well this being a sensitive area I would have expected the guide to step in. That was the only poor ingredient in the otherwise tasty dish!
Nice and relaxed experience. Saw a kingfisher for the first time in 50 years so thrilled with that. Saw 4 other species and the guide even let us try fresh water chestnuts from the lake. We had a continuous supply of wine or juice and the opportunity to have a dip in the lake towards the end.

The lake is beautiful and therefore highly recommended for a boat trip. We were there on a hot day, in the middle of the day. As Virpazar is really small, you could feel the crowds of tourists – there were hardly any parking spaces – but the trip was still well worth it, thanks also to our boatman and guide. They were both very friendly and open, full us stories.
Very beautiful discovery of Lake Skadar aboard a traditional wooden boat, the guide gives some explanations in English to the dozen clients present and offers drinks and local wine. The 2-hour ride is enough to navigate this immense lake and observe the impressive quantity of birds and water lilies, with a swim possible in the middle of the lake. A nice relaxing time on the water. Free parking spaces at the entrance and all the rental companies are on the main street with a few bars and restaurants around. As everywhere in Montenegro, cash payment is preferred and you save €2 per ticket. A tour I recommend.
The lake is magnificent, the guide gives a lot of explanation and was very kind. The little drink on the way is very appreciated just like the swim. In short, I recommend it
