We had a fantastic early-morning birdwatching trip with Kingfisher Tours in Virpazar, and it was easily one of the highlights of our time at Lake Skadar. Alex was our skipper and guide, and he was brilliant — friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about the lake and its wildlife. He shared so much about the local area, the history of the lake, and the animals and birds we encountered, and his enthusiasm really made the trip special. Seeing the marsh harrier, the Dalmatian pelicans, grebe, cormorants, moorhen, grey and squacco herons, little and great egrets, and of course the spectacular kingfishers was so special. What particularly stood out was the time and care Alex took to make sure we saw as much wildlife as possible. While you see plenty of skippers rushing around the lake or looking at their phones, Alex was completely engaged with the experience, patiently looking for wildlife and sharing his knowledge with us. His passion for protecting and preserving the lake for future generations really came through. We had also hired kayaks from Kingfisher the previous day for a self-guided trip and had another great experience, seeing lots of wildlife and enjoying the lake at our own pace. We’d highly recommend Kingfisher Tours, and especially an early-morning trip with Alex. Getting out on the lake when it was peaceful and the wildlife was active was absolutely worth the early start. A memorable experience with someone who clearly loves and cares deeply about this beautiful place.

WI had a fantastic birdwatching trip with Kingfisher Boat & Kayak on Lake Skadar. Everything worked perfectly — the boat left exactly on time, the trip was very well organized, and we managed to see all the species we were hoping for, including Dalmatian Pelicans, Pygmy Cormorants, Eurasian Kingfishers, and many other birds. A special mention must go to the guide and boat captain, Aleksandar. He was extremely professional, patient, knowledgeable, and clearly has a genuine love for nature and wildlife. He also has a great sense of humor, which made the trip even more enjoyable. Aleksandar was happy to take the time to look for the birds we were interested in and made sure we had excellent opportunities to observe them. For anyone interested in birdwatching and nature, I highly recommend Kingfisher Boat & Kayak and especially Aleksandar. It was one of the highlights of our visit to Lake Skadar!

Excellent trip and well worth the early start. Easy to find in what becomes a hive of activity. The boat was very spacious, with lots of room for everyone that was on the trip. Wildlife tour, which is what we did, has only 8 persons maximum. The captain for our trip was Alex, who spoke brilliant English, he was very professional, and a really good laugh. He pointed out the key areas where certain species like to hang out, which made seeing them so much easier. His aims were for us to enjoy the trip, see what we wanted to see (as much as possible, it is wildlife after all), and take away more awareness of the area and the environment around Lake Skadar. We saw Dalmatian Pelicans, Squacco Herons, Pigmy Cormorants, Water Rail, Western Marsh Harriers, a Night Heron, to name a few, plus a couple of Water Snakes. I couldn't recommend this trip, Kingfisher, and Alex enough. Thanks to team Kingfisher.

Just back from a wonderful boat trip on Lake Skadar. The scenery was amazing and there was so much wildlife to spot. Our guide, Alex, was excellent, with lots of local knowledge and interesting information. We thoroughly recommend this tour.
