We had a wonderful food tour with Chika. She was so knowledgable and did an amazing job at picking food that our group would enjoy (including a few adventurous snacks!). We all had a great time and I would recommend this tour, especially with Chika as your guide, to everyone visiting Kyoto.
Chikako was an excellent guide in Kyoto and we enjoyed experiencing Nishiki food market with professional help!
The lunch tour was fantastic. We learned a ton and have many things to go back to now and revisit. 5 stars!
Great tour with an excellent guide in Chika. Got to try a great spread of different types of food and drink and hear traditional information on all of the different vendors and food types. To top if off Chika then gave us a great guide of spots to seek out for the rest of our stay - truly a five star guide!
We learned so much about local foods, history of several dishes, and had a great time walking through the food market. Chika our guide was very knowledgeable about Kyoto's food traditions, how many foods have become staples, and the difference is how food is prepared. Tours with a local make an incredible difference in the experience of eating in a foreign country. Chika also took is to an amazing gourmet market underneath a department store. It was incredible and we will be going back.
Chika was a fantastic guide, super knowledgeable and navigating a crowded market with calm aplomb. This tour focuses on Kyoto specialities and uniqueness, and Chika throws in historical footnotes and personalises it too. I hope the eel liver grants me the long life of her grandmother!
My wife and I went on a tour with Chika at lunch. She was amazing, knowledgeable and easy to talk with. With so many stalls at the market, it can be overwhelming to pick out more unique eateries… Chika made it east! Highly recommend! Thank you!!!
