Everything happened as described—except the main event. Víctor was very nice, but be prepared for a very long day. Between the bus, ferry, and waiting around, it’s a 12–14 hour excursion, which would have been worth it if there had actually been bioluminescence to see. Although the company doesn’t operate the day before, the day of, or the day after a full moon, we went just a few days before and could barely see anything. We only caught a faint glimpse under a tarp by splashing water on our legs, and since everyone has to take turns, that lasted about a minute. I strongly recommend booking as close to a new moon as possible. Tours knowingly still operate on nights when the bioluminescence is barely visible, so do your homework before booking.
Our trip was acceptional from beginning to end. Was more then what we expected. Looking forward to sharing with friends and returning to do more!
Perfectly organized, very smooth for a very long day. The bio luminescence is amazing! The tour is long but worth it.
Even under crescent moonlight, the bioluminescence was still clearly visible. David was amazing and very informative
Overall, this experience was a 10/10. Our tour guide, Mia, was very knowledgeable about Vieques and Puerto Rico as a whole, and I feel like this tour was equal parts learning and a full-body workout. The crew with I Ventures brought plenty of snacks for the beach, and recommended some good local restaurants for a late lunch/early dinner. Also, when we go to the kayaking part, it was so beautiful, that no phone or camera could ever do it justice. You gotta see it in person and take pictures with your mind.
Loved the driver and general tour guide. They were helpful and friendly and overall awesome. The “fun brothers” were ok. One nice, one not as much. Also even though we are tourists we can understand disparaging remarks made iin Spanish. Group loved everything except the actual bio bay kayaking. Everything was beautiful but perhaps more patience with first time kayakers would go a long way…

The day trip was nothing short of amazing. Rafael the tour guide was knowledgeable and made sure we all had a great time. The luminescence part was incredible.
That was the coolest, amazing evening. We loved being out in the bay as the sun set and then experiencing the night time in the bay as well. Seeing the bioluminescent water in Mosquito Bay was so amazing, somthing that is magical! Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and just kept sharing so many interesting facts. I will definitely be coming back and booking IVentures again. It was so nice having someone take care of all of the transportation and plans. Our travel guide, Rafael, gave us some good options for dinner in the town of Esperanza. He recommended the restaurant, Banana, for an authentic Puerto Rican experience. We tried it out and LOVED all of the food choices we ordered. It was delicious!!! Definitely a night and an experience to remember.
This was the highlight of our vacation! Each of our tour guides and transportation people was wonderful. The package took the stress out of all the planning and moving parts of an excursion like this. We hope to bring our kids back one day to do this again!
