We had a great time with our driver. We were able to explore the cave on our own time. A highlight for us was stopping into the Zipaquirá city center for some Holy Week celebrations as well.

It was agreed that we will be picked up from the hotel at 7 am, we were standing in front of the hotel at 6:55 and waited, at 7:15 I wrote via WhatsApp once, no reply at 7:30 again, they were online but again no reply at 7:45 came a cancellation. We had the opportunity to take a guided tour to the Salt Cathedral and the experience was simply exceptional. The weather was unbeatable and accompanied every moment of the tour. Our guides, Jorge and Esther, were a real privilege: warm, fun, attentive and with a deep knowledge of Bogota and its history. The way they shared every detail made the tour feel close and extremely enriching. The Cathedral of Salt is an impressive, majestic and unique work of its kind. Walking through its tunnels and illuminated spaces is almost a sensory journey that exceeds any expectation. In conclusion, it was an unparalleled experience that we highly recommend.

Our tour of the Salt Cathedral was already incredible, but Milena made it exceptional. She’s a local from Zipaquirá and it shows—her passion for the place is contagious. Thanks to our professional and attentive guide, Steve, we saw a very special optical illusion not included in the audio guides. Learned a lot about the history and facts! The only downside about the mine was too many religious sculptures with no relation to the mine's structure or origins bearing in mind not every visitor follows the same faith.
