Miguel was our guide. He was super knowledgeable, patient and made the tour interesting and fun. I will take his tour again when I return to Portugal.

We had such a fantastic experience and loved hiring kayaks. It was a perfect session in the lagoon and easy to navigate with our children. They were aged 6 and 10. The operator was very knowledgeable and communication was excellent.

Kayaking tour on Obidos Lagoon. After the safety and technical instructions, we leave with the guide to discover the fauna and flora of the lagoon. The guide is French-speaking, and has a good grasp of his subject. He brings his explanations to life, and it's a pleasure to listen to him. A walk with family or friends to discover the ecosystem of the lagoon while paddling from one spot to another.

We had a wonderful morning with Miguel who was incredibly knowledgeable about the plants, wildlife and history of the area. Highlights included learning about edible lagoon plants, beachcombing and meeting local fisherman and learning about their traditional fishing techniques. Thank you Intertidal!

We shared a wonderful afternoon with Miguel on the lagoon in kayaks having never done this before. Miguel’s knowledge of the lagoon, sea life & history was very interesting. Even my 77 year old mum coped under his guidance and we felt very safe. Will definitely be booking more trips. Thanks Miguel.

Miguel explained how to manage the kayak and the route we would take, then we had a really fun time taking our kayaks around the lagoon. We went across to a small island and explored the shorelines there, Miguel showed us some of the sea life such as green crabs, hermit crabs, molluscs, seaweed, samphire, and told us about some of the other sea life he had seen in the lagoon. He explained the history of the lagoon including his own research into the historic names used by the fishermen and the local customs and traditions, he was also able to show us the traditional fishing boats and a clam-diver on the Obidos shore. He was really knowledgeable and fun to listen to and he made it interesting for all of the kids on the trip. Would definitely recommend this and would love to do it again.

We had a wonderful afternoon kayaking around the lagoon. Miguel is a fantastic guide; super friendly and very knowledgeable about the lagoon. He’s a marine biologist by background and has a deep love of the lagoon having grown up here. I only wish we could have spent more time with him.

Fantastic tour with Intertidal. Miguel was an excellent tour guide bringing us around Lagoa de Óbidos and catering for all abilities. He has an excellent knowledge of the area both on land & in the water. He was very engaging with the kids, teaching them about the lagoon’s fish, molluscs and birds with great passion.
