もともとは「フラミニア門」と呼ばれていた建物ですが、現在は「ポポロ門」が正式名称です。 1562年にローマ教皇ピウス4世が有名な芸術家ミケランジェロに設計を依頼した。 しかし、ミケランジェロは建築家ナンニ・ディ・バッチョ・ビジョに工事を委任し、ビジョは3年で工事を完了させ、1565年に完成した。
スペイン階段は1723年に遡り、丘の麓にあるスペイン広場から山頂のトリニタ・デイ・モンティ広場までを結ぶ急斜面を登る一連の階段である。 現在でもスペイン階段は、昔と同じように芸術家、画家、詩人に人気のアトラクションとして残っている。
トレヴィの泉はローマを訪れる人にとって欠かせない目的地です。 世界で最も美しい噴水とされ、息を呑むような光景です。 噴水の起源は紀元前19年に乙女座アクア水道の終点として建設された時に遡る。 しかし、今日見られる噴水は、ルネサンス時代にローマ教皇ニコラ5世の指導によって建設されたものである。 噴水の壮大さ、繊細なディテール、そして畏敬の念を抱かせる美しさは、観光客や地元民の誰もが訪れるべきアトラクションとなっています。
