This photo walk was so good and was one of the highlights of my short visit to Hanoi. It was a great way to explore while getting helpful advice on composition, camera settings, and equipment. I picked up some really useful tips and got photos of Hanoi that I love. If you enjoy photography and want to go home with some great shots, this is a must-do.

Great early morning photo-walk
Nguyen is a very experienced photographer and a great communicator with a friendly, relaxed attitude. He adapts each walk to suit the level of the photographer. I had a mirrorless camera. I am reasonably familiar with its settingand have some experience, while another participant was a relative beginner with an iPhone. Nguyen provided lots of guidance and brought us through the old town, with its bustling early-morning activity. I highly recommend this photo-walk.

An Absolute Must — Even If You Only Have a Phone Camera
This photo walk delivers genuine value for photographers at any level. I joined with nothing but my cell phone, and I left with improved skills, honest feedback, and a happy heart.
Nguyen took time to connect with each participant individually, helping us identify something specific and meaningful to focus on for the morning.
The real highlight for me was the critique session at the end. Hearing Nguyen and the other participants break down what worked in a photo, as well as what could be stronger, was very valuable.
Highest possible recommendation. Book it…NOW!

Excellent!
If you're visiting Hanoi and looking to improve your photographic skills, do yourself a favour and spend a morning with Nguyen. He's a born teacher and a really nice young man - flexible, accommodating and knowledgeable. He guides and answers any questions. I recently joined him, his assistant and another woman for a morning. At the end of the session there was a valuable feedback session where we all commented on each other's favourite few photographs, saying why we liked or didn't like the photos, what worked and what we could do to change or improve the photos. He, of course, added his valuable input too. It was well-worthwhile. Many thanks.

THE $30 HEIST! I Stole Nguyen’s Top Photography Secrets for a Bargain
HANOI EXCLUSIVE: Why are we spending thousands on flights to Vietnam only to come home with a camera roll full of blurry disasters? I’ve found the man who can turn your smartphone "shame" into "fame"—and it’ll cost you less than a fancy dinner.
For just US$30, local legend Nguyen delivers a 4-hour masterclass that is quite frankly a steal. Here’s the "inside scoop" on how he does it:
• THE GAME PLAN: We kicked off with a coffee where Nguyen didn't just talk at me—he listened. We picked a specific creative theme for the day (he actually has a massive list of 28 themes to choose from, which he sends over at the end along with your team selfie!).
• PRO TIPS ON TAP: Throughout the stroll through the Old Town and the cab ride to the markets, Nguyen drops constant pro tips. I learned how to set up my phone for "stealth" street shots that actually capture the soul of the city without looking like a tourist trap.
• THE "IPAD" REVEAL: This isn't just about snapping and hoping. We finished with another coffee and a high-tech critique session on his iPad. Seeing my shots on the big screen meant we could really dive into the details, playing with crops and edits to see how a "good" shot becomes a "great" one.
THE VERDICT: I walked away with a phone full of winners and the skills to do my holiday investment justice. If you’re in Hanoi, don't just "take" photos—learn how to make them.
Get in quick before he realizes he’s undercharging!

Walking classroom on Photography
In an unhurried way, Nguyen took me through the streets of Hanoi, across 3 suburbs with very different vibes. Took lots of pictures, focusing on a technique of choice. In my case, Framing. At the end of session, we sat down for coffee and the feedback on selected pictures allowed the theories to come alive! Learnt much. Thank you Nguyen!
