Super organized, Hagen is a top guide, we received a lot of information, numerous tips, and a great deal of input. The group was small, and we felt very comfortable. We had booked this combined tour with great expectations at Banana Joe’s for two main reasons, namely the 60-minute airboat ride and the guide in German. We both speak English quite passably, but it should be more relaxed, which is why we were happy to pay the extra charge of 35$/person. But the reality was that the airboat trip took exactly 40 minutes. The airboat has basically sailed along “highway”-like canals. Yes - you've seen several alligators, but you really can't imagine driving through the pristine nature of the Everglades. It is an absolute mass handling. As for the German-speaking guide, although he spoke a reasonable German, since a British couple was there, he also said everything in English, but in a strange mishmash of sentences that consisted partly of German and English words. He also managed to speak only English in direct conversation with Germans and he had to be made aware that there was no Briton present at the moment. Otherwise, the second part of the tour - the city tour - was a bit better, as it tells a bit more here. A visit to a small Cuban restaurant was good in Little Havana. At another stop, however, you were again let out of the bus without any indication what you can see or do where. You had to ask pro-actively and then you got an answer. I can imagine that this is very guide-dependent.

Vorweg ein wichtiger Punkt: Ihr habt bei uns eine der wenigen Touren in Miami gebucht, die überhaupt eine Hotelabholung, einen Live-Guide und deutschsprachige Betreuung in einem Paket anbieten – und das im Budget-Segment. Das ist in dieser Form alles andere als selbstverständlich. 1. Airboat-Dauer Unsere Touren sind als ca. 60 Minuten angegeben. Je nach Wasserstand, Betrieb vor Ort und Auslastung kann das variieren. Dass ihr ca. 40 Minuten hattet, ist nicht ideal, liegt aber nicht in unserer direkten Kontrolle, da wir mit lizenzierten Everglades-Partnern arbeiten. 2. „Unberührte Natur“ Erwartung Hier muss man realistisch bleiben: Miami / Südflorida ist einer der meistbesuchten Tourismus-Hotspots weltweit. Die klassischen Airboat-Touren sind keine abgelegenen Expeditionen, sondern organisierte Touren mit entsprechender Infrastruktur und Auslastung. Wer wirklich privat und abseits unterwegs sein möchte, kann das machen – aber dann sprechen wir von Private Airboat-Touren, die wir ebenfalls anbieten, jedoch in einer ganz anderen Preiskategorie. 3. Deutschsprachiger Guide Wichtig zur Einordnung: Die Tour kostet auf Englisch exakt das Gleiche – es gibt keinen Aufpreis nur für die Sprache. In gemischten internationalen Gruppen ist es normal, dass der Guide beide Sprachen spricht. Dass das nicht immer perfekt getrennt ist, kann vorkommen – ist aber der Kompromiss, um solche Touren überhaupt anbieten zu können. Für eine 100 % deutschsprachige, durchgehende Führung ohne Mischung empfehlen wir klar unsere Privattouren. 4. Gesamtpaket Ihr habt eine klassische Gruppentour im Budget-Segment gebucht – mit Abholung, Organisation und Live-Guide. Gerade in Miami ist das preislich sehr eng kalkuliert. Dass wir hier überhaupt deutschsprachige Optionen anbieten, ist unter den Marktbedingungen in Südflorida keine Selbstverständlichkeit. Kurz gesagt: Ihr habt kein exklusives Private-Erlebnis gebucht, sondern eine solide organisierte Gruppentour mit Zusatzleistungen, die in dieser Preisklasse eher selten sind. Wenn ihr beim nächsten Mal ein ruhigeres, exklusiveres Erlebnis möchtet, stellen wir euch gerne eine private Tour zusammen, die genau darauf ausgelegt ist.
We took part in the German-speaking MIAMI CITY TOUR WITH SPEEDBOAT on 14.03.2026. We regularly book German-language tours abroad and know what matters. We were really looking forward to the tour. The price starts at $125 for adults - you can expect something. There was a meeting point near our hotel. There our tour guide Ruslan picked us up on time. It all started well. Then an English-speaking couple joined us on our tour. Thus our tour was no longer in German but bilingual in German/English. We booked the tour especially because our parents do not understand English. The tour guide then began to mix the languages. He started the sentence in German and finished it in English. At the price - a no go! We then had several stops in Miami, which were all good. But unfortunately, we were mostly left here alone. At one stop we were asked several times if we didn’t want to eat lunch in a restaurant (at his own expense), he would always go there to eat. We stated several times that we did not want to. We couldn't shake the feeling that he would have gotten a discount or a free meal there if he had taken us there. That was very uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the topic of "Cocaine Cowboys" was only addressed with a Netflix movie - which he showed on his mobile phone in English while driving. That’s not possible at all, since that should be a big point on the tour (Cocaine Cowboys & Mafia – Al Capone’s time in Miami). In the end we had our speedboat tour. He got off with us and went to the ticket collection desk. There it took about 15 minutes for him to inform us that our tour would start at 6 pm. At that time it was about 4.30pm. I asked him if this was serious, that we now have to wait about an hour and a half here. He just said that there was nothing he could do, that was the booking portal. After that he left us there and went back to his car where the other couple was still sitting. I then went to the counter and asked if we could do the tour earlier. We immediately received a slot at 5pm. We then had to fill out the liability committee. This one was in English. We can't do that either, because he left us alone. Our parents could never have filled this out without us. If you offer a complete tour in German, it cannot be that you just leave your customers standing at the end without further explanation. After the tour, we received several messages via WhatsApp that we wanted to rate him and the tour after all and several messages followed with - in his opinion - jokes. We found that very intrusive and unnecessary. The car with which the tour took place was also totally through and some seats were torn in the cover, the ventilation did not go or something pointed pierced through the seat. That's not a good poster child either. All in all, we are very disappointed with the tour. There was also no water on the tour or food - that was also in the description. However, given the price and temperatures, we believe that free water should be a basic part of such tours.

Wer eine 100 % deutschsprachige Betreuung ohne Kompromisse möchte, kann jederzeit eine unserer Privattouren buchen. 2. Preis & Leistung Der Preis wird hier verzerrt dargestellt: Allein die Speedboat-Tour kostet vor Ort bereits ca. $55–60 pro Person. Zusätzlich enthalten sind: persönlicher Pick-up-Service Live-Guide über mehrere Stunden Transport, Organisation und Stopps Es handelt sich also um ein Gesamtpaket – nicht nur um ein Einzelticket. 3. Restaurant-Thema Die Behauptung, es gäbe ein verstecktes System oder persönliche Vorteile für den Guide, ist falsch. Ein solches Restaurant-Arrangement existiert nicht. Es wurden lediglich Empfehlungen ausgesprochen – wie es weltweit üblich ist. 4. Stopps & Betreuung Unsere Stopps sind bewusst so gestaltet, dass Gäste Miami auch selbstständig erkunden können. Ein dauerhaftes „an der Hand führen“ ist nicht Teil dieses Tourkonzepts. 5. Speedboat-Wartezeit Die Zeitfenster werden durch externe Anbieter vergeben. Dass vor Ort ein früherer Slot möglich war, zeigt vielmehr, dass Flexibilität gegeben war. 6. Dokumente auf Englisch Haftungsausschlüsse in den USA sind standardmäßig auf Englisch. Das liegt außerhalb unseres Einflussbereichs. 7. Fahrzeugzustand Das eingesetzte Fahrzeug war nicht defekt und wurde technisch einwandfrei eingesetzt. Sollten subjektive Eindrücke anders wahrgenommen worden sein, prüfen wir das intern – ein „kaputtes Fahrzeug“ entspricht jedoch nicht den Tatsachen. 8. Wasser & Verpflegung Wir weisen nirgends darauf hin, dass kostenloses Essen oder Getränke Bestandteil dieser Tour sind. Es stellt sich daher die Frage, wo diese Information gelesen wurde, da sie nicht Teil unserer Leistungsbeschreibung ist. 9. Kommunikation im Nachgang Bewertungsanfragen sind branchenüblich. Humor wird von vielen Gästen geschätzt, von einigen weniger – das nehmen wir zur Kenntnis. Fazit: Hier treffen sehr hohe – teilweise nicht realistische – Erwartungen auf ein Produkt im mittleren Preissegment. Wer eine vollständig individuelle Betreuung, durchgehend deutschsprachige Führung ohne weitere Gäste und Rundum-Service erwartet, sollte gezielt eine Privattour buchen.
Hagen was our guide and he was really great. Even the hotel pickup was super punctual and Hagen gave us lots of information about Miami and surroundings. He also sent us some great tips for our onward journey in Florida after the tour. In the late afternoon he took us to the Speedboot Tour and "checked us in" there. We can highly recommend this tour and Hagen, especially as it is also perfect to have a German speaking tour guide.

Our driver Christian was great. The fan boat tour was a lot of fun and the gator show was entertaining. We saw lots of alligators.
