Our "Explore Shibamata, Tokyo by Folding Bike" tour with Takeshi was hands-down the highlight of our trip to Tokyo. Takeshi was an incredible guide—informative, patient, and genuinely delightful. He took us through lesser-explored neighborhoods, giving us a refreshing perspective of life in Tokyo, far from the usual crowded tourist spots. The tour started at Cycle House Shibuya, where the friendly staff introduced us to the folding bikes. From there, Takeshi led us on a carefully planned route, ensuring we rode safely and comfortably the entire time. One of the first stops was the beautiful Taishakuten Temple, where we learned about its history and soaked in the serene atmosphere. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at a charming local restaurant—an experience that felt authentically Tokyo. The ride along the Edogawa Cycling Road to Mizumoto Park was breathtaking. Mizumoto Park, with its expansive greenery, was a peaceful oasis and a perfect spot to truly enjoy the ride. Our final stop at Bicycle Coffee Tokyo was a treat—the coffee was fantastic and the staff were beyond welcoming. Takeshi’s care and attention to detail made the entire experience unforgettable. From ensuring we were safe on the road to sharing fascinating insights about Tokyo’s culture and history, he made the day both fun and enriching.
