Excellent music and we loved the experience of enjoying music at the Fortress for our first night in Salzburg. Especially loved hearing Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and the encore which was a tango. Would have been nice if there was a free program of the music played.

This is the 3d of 3 classical concert reviews from our cycling trip that included Vienna and Salzburg. Like the small ensemble (trio) at Mozarthaus in Vienna, this one was also excellent. Very good musicians -- especially the first violinist -- and a decent selection of compositions (albeit pretty standard local fare). Thoroughly enjoyed it and tics included the tram up to the castle and back. Very cool setting. (I gave a rather negative review to the Schoenbrunn castle (Orangery) concert in Vienna for comparison.

The musical performances were stellar, and the musicians were very engaging! Taking the funicular at the fortress was also a fun way to start and end the concert :) The hall was beautiful with stunning views of the surrounding mountains in the background! The only bad part was that the room was very warm with the recent heat wave (EU June 2026) - so being a fan if the weather looks like it will be hot!

Beautiful place to experience the music of Mozart,music was played so beautifully what fantastic talented people. Highly recommend

Lovely experience at sunset in summer from Hohensalzburg! The interpretations are very good and entertaining!

Taking the funicular up into the fortress with amazing views of Salzburg to see such talented musicians play music in a beautiful concert hall was magical.

Could be great if they enforced their age limits (4+). You risk getting a concert with really young kids. A large extended family with multiple babies and toddlers came. I am all for family friendly events and very supportive of making it possible for children to get exposed to the arts. This is not where it should happen. A classical music concert in a warm room with an 8:30pm start. The family showed up late and then the kids were clamoring and jabbering throughout. The adults were no less quiet. I get it. I have four kids. But I would not bring them to this. The venue should have enforced their policies. So I’ll be honest, it kind of ruined it for me.

Highly recommend this experience even if you're not a huge classical music fan. The musicians were outstanding and the fortress was such a fabulous place for the concert. Everything about the experience was excellent.

This was a really cool experience! The view in itself made it worth it. The musicians were all incredibly talented and I enjoyed how intimate it was. Something to note is that once you get up via the funicular, it is all stairs. This is not handicap accessible.

Absolutely exquisite experience— moving, engaging, and with a touch of humor in the most perfect setting of the Festung Hohensalzburg— not to be missed.
