The English-speaking free walking tour with Miguel was probably the best free walking tour I’ve ever been on. There is so much to know about Basque history, culture, politics, language, and society, and it’s not obvious where to find everything out. Miguel covered so much content in an objective and interesting way that made me feel proud of everything the Basques have accomplished. I wish I had done the walking tour on my first day here, as he also gave some good tips on what to see beyond Bilbao and how to get there. Note that the group leaves pretty on time, so don’t be late. This was the highlight of our trip to Bilbao, 10/10 recommend!

Excellent tour in the knowledgeable hands of Miguel. Fascinating insights into the history of Bilbao and the Basque region with lots of stops on route during a 2 hour walk. The tour is 'free' but of course a commission is appreciated - you pay whatever you like.

I took the trip around Bilbao's old tow yesterday with my family and we all had a wonderful time. Our guide (Juaquim) was absolutely wunderful. He was full of knowledge about Basque history and culture. He gladly talked to us about topics that intrested us. Juaquim was full of fun facts about Bilbo too and he gave us some useful instructions on how to use public transport around here. And it was easy to communicate since he is fluent in English. It was absolutely a treat and I would recomend him to anyone visiting Bilbo.

Absolutely recommend this tour! Miguel gave us lots of insights into Basque history and culture, He’s articulate, entertaining and informative and made the tour enjoyable despite the rainy weather. I left the tour with new insights and keen to learn more about Basque history, culture and writing.
