Was really looking forward to this tour as I had longed to visit Positano and being that our cruise had Sorrento as one of our ports of call I booked the road trip thinking this was a good way to not only go to Positano (as well as the towns of Amalfi & Ravella) plus take in the scenic drive along the Amalfi coast. Our tour guide, Massimo, was ready & waiting at the meeting spot (very close to where our ship's tender had dropped us in Sorrento) and along with two other couples who were also on our cruise (but we didn't know them) we set off. We drove for about 1/2 an hour to collect two other people who were staying in Sorrento who were to join our tour and then finally set off along the coast road. This is where our tour went downhill. None of us could understand our driver/guide. He muttered when he spoke and when we asked him to speak up he just kept talking over the top of us! Maybe he couldn't hear us over the sound of the engine but we tried on many occasions to tell him we couldn't hear. He eventually utilised a microphone which made no difference as we all worked out it was not the volume that was the problem, but that his English was inadequate. He then proceeded to talk (more mutter than anything) the whole way of the long drive to Positano (we encountered fair amount of traffic for this leg of the trip) and with the windy road and his incessant muttering, most of us felt pretty agitated & unhappy. At least the scenery was spectacular but the journey was ruined by his non-stop commentary and us all unable to understand a single word. We finally arrived in Positano where he told us we had 1/2 an hour in order that we could fit in visiting the two other towns. I was gutted! Not enough time whatsoever but my husband & I made haste to go check out the cobbled pathway that lead down toward the beach. We didn't make it all the way down as realised we wouldn't make it back to the van in time so was a most disappointing visit. I was hoping we'd stop off on the way and take pictures as the views were absolutely spectacular, but Massimo kept driving to our next stop, Amalfi, saying that we wouldn't be able to fit in the other towns if we stopped off (we all just managed to understand that he said this - with many times repeating on his part). Next stop was the town of Amalfi where we ended up getting more time in (about 1.25hr). We joined on to the two couples from our cruise and wandered around Amalfi with them. A lovely town with lots of Italian charm. This was what I had expected to experience in Positano but due to having to rush, our time had been cut drastically short. We were supposed to travel on to Ravella but Massimo said this would put getting back to Sorrento in time for our cruise departure time at risk. He asked us all (many times over) if we therefore not head there to which we had no choice but to agree. I think this tour was an unrealistic choice to have picked with the deadline being too early in needing to get back to the port in the afternoon. My advice to anyone looking to book this tour would be to ensure you have all day to leisurely drive the coast road and then enough time to visit each of the 3 towns the tour specifies you'll visit. If you are looking for a good English speaking guide, I would (regretably) not recommend Massimo, unless you were purely looking for a driver of which I would say he was suitably skilled & safe. I look forward to returning here in the not too distant future and allow more time to savour & explore "la bella" Amalfi coast!

Zero hesitation! This was one of our highlights of our trip to Italy. A member of our party was celebrating her 50th birthday on the day of our tour. Gio (our guide) went above and beyond to make it a special day...including but not limited to....arranging a private wine tasting / lunch at a beautiful location complete with singing "happy birthday" and candles on a an AMAZING homemade tiramisu. It was epic. Gio was fun, safe, informative, etc. etc. The car was clean and perfect. Even before the trip, the office was wonderful at giving suggestions and tips. We had one day...in August. To avoid the crowds, Melania (from the office) suggested avoiding some crowds and going to Ravello and Minori to avoid some of the craziness to optimize our time. It was perfect!! Ravello is magical. Again...zero hesitation. This will be an epic day!

This private tour was the best tour our family has ever been on. Gio was the best and most amazing tour guide we have ever met. He made the trip special for our family and fun and was extremely accommodating. My family will never forget this tour. Highly Highly recommend. Almafi Coast with Gio was amazing!!!!

We had an amazing time with our driver Ciro. He told us tons of history of the area and explained everything we were seeing. The sights were magnificent! Especially when he took us up to Ravello. Views were stunning. The road is very very curvy so just make sure you are prepared for that. And he was a perfect driver navigating through all of it. I’m just glad us Americans were not trying to drive on these roads. Lol We went in August, my only suggestion is to go when it’s not so hot because you will want to walk around and see everything in the small towns but just be prepared it’s hot.

We had the most amazing trip to Italy… Rome… Florence… Naples…Amalfi. The history the food the sights the scenery the people. But no one and no thing compares to our tour with Giovanni. Genevieve and I still look back with such fond memories and we’ve traveled so much since. Going to Amalfi? Go Gio!

It was the best choice booking this private tour well organized with well experienced driver/tour guide in one. Had great time taking beautiful photos in every stops to Positano the Amalfi coast and Ravello. Day well spent as we save our time traveling to all this amazing places . Lovely part of our holiday in Naples .

An absolute wonderful and amazing experience! The tour is wonderfully planned and so enjoyable. The views are breathtaking and our guide, the amazing Enrico, made it so much fun! It was also so nice that free time was included to explore, take pictures, and experience the culture.
