We selected a private tour of Pearl Harbor and several additional sights on Oahu. We were picked up at our hotel at Turtle Bay on the North Shore which added about 2 hours to the full day package. It is absolutely critical to note that aside from the actual sights, it was our guide, Sam, who made the experience so memorable. His expertise, engagement, and recognition of our interests were top flight A+. Pearl Harbor obviously is memorable and emotional without commentary, but Sam's knowledge and perspective brought far more understanding to our experience.
We had a great time once our tour started. Our tour guides Blake and Winnie were super. They made our day turn out awesome. Very informative and pleasant.
The tour guide Fu'a was at airport waiting and got the ball rolling right away. We really enjoyed the Arizona Memorial and the USS Missouri. Then on to the Polynesian Cultural Center where we had lunch at Pounders .I must say I had the most delicious boneless short ribs and jackfruit. The cultural center had many great shows.We especially liked KAP . We stopped at a macadamia nut farm.Then drove up to Sunset beach and then the North point .Fu'a was the most personable ,pleasant, and accomodating guide we have ever dealt with in all our travels.After a quick stop at the Dole plantation we were off to the airport to return to Maui.This is the best decision we made to take a private tour.Thanks again to Pearl Harbor tours and especially Fu'a for making our trip so memorable.
